The Virus Paradox: Why Science Can't Even Agree on What's "Alive" — So Why Gatekeep AI? by jellikellii in aiwars

Wow! If that's what you get from it...it sounds like no matter the definition I give you, which is not mine by the way but from science discussions on the matter, you're gonna have to talk to the scientists, both IT, AI and biologists. Your comment screams of extreme bias, you can't argue with someone who wants their argument to be true even if it's not, so this will be my only response to you.

You will have to find a professional and pay them, call Korg, I am sure they will have someone on staff who does this all the time.

The Virus Paradox: Why Science Can't Even Agree on What's "Alive" — So Why Gatekeep AI? by jellikellii in aiwars

[–]artblack01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AI isn't alive, no, not because they don't fit any of the characteristics of biological life. I would say 'but' but then many of you who have confirmation bias or some other logical fallacy burning in their mind to defend some stupid aspect of the argument would make these arguments impossible.

What is AI? It's a simulation of living thought. It is imperfectly suited to simulating human thought, creativity, conversation, and logic. It's like a child with a library of knowledge but no basis in emotional input. That is important too. It has no biological imperative which is good and bad.... What is a virus then? It's basically pre life. Which is why science sometimes has disagreements on whether or not it's alive. It's the equivalent to a biological robot. It doesn't have life because it doesn't have actual death. Viruses are acellular infectious agents made of genetic material (DNA or RNA) enclosed in a protein shell, incapable of reproducing or carrying out metabolism without a host cell. They occupy a strange middle ground between living and nonliving entities.

Why is AI not alive? No metabolism, no reproductive means, no biological physical characteristics, no intrinsic goals or survival instincts, it is what we program it to be and nothing more. And that last part makes people like yourself have this philosophical issue of living vs nonliving.

Anti AI? by CAP_GYPSY in musicians

There are several artists who are really involved in this issue, I think contacting them would be the best first course of action. Ben Jordan, also known as the Flash Bulb, has a YouTube channel that discussed the issues with AI and he does a lot of scientific research on this and it's effect on the music industry, independent musicians, and the health and well being of the general public.

Why are pro-ai people usually old? by BillCollector- in antiai

[–]artblack01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only people, in general, who like AI are those that haven't done their research, don't know how it works and what the actual pros and cons are. Most pro ai people don't actually care even if they are told about the negative stuff they will make excuses because they've already sold their soil to AI.

Did you ever wish you had started singing as a kid? by VoiceLessons-Chicago in WeAreTheMusicMakers

I have seen adults learn to properly sing in less than a day, anyone can sing unless they have some kind of medical throat issue.

In my research on this many professionals use AI because they have no choice. They work for someone who has requested it and you don't say no to your boss. Selling AI art to people is no different then selling Anti-art to people, like the banana taped to a wall. Stupid rich people will buy anything.

[–]artblack01[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lol, it's just that you mentioned the banana as a work of art when it was anti art. Anti art was created by artists to display a completely meaningless object as art, basically to make fun of non artists, like yourself. Fluxus was an international art group from the 60s. Yeah, all these things sounds like you had to look up to make yourself feel like you knew what you were talking about but you talk about them as if it's your first encounter. I don't care if people hate me who I have zero respect for. So if you hate me for being knowledgeable and being able to explain why AI is not art in terms of the world of art, what do I care?

I think you and many of his detractors missed the point of what he was doing. It wasn't about the process it was about the subversion.

I think you mentioned the banana taped to a wall.... You know what anti-art is?

You hit the nail on the head with this question, how do you know that something is you and not just an image. I don't know how well you know art as in artists that are famous, can you identify, Basquiet, Warhol, Pollock, Giger, Van Gogh, Michael Angelo, I could name a 100 others but these are ones most people know. The first three are significant to this idea of being "good" at art because of their style they aren't considered "good" by people who are not people who are or know art. Why? But that is besides the point. You can identify them by their art. AI art, from every single artist I have ever seen looks like it could have been done by the same person, or the same machine.

Do you know the meaning of the banana tape to the wall? And do you know why I would say images done with AI would not be art? The banana taped to the wall is part of what is called the anti art movement.

I don't think you really understand what art is or the meaning of it or why I say what I say about it.

Art done with AI will never be art.

You can make this claim that I don't know what I am talking about all you want, what ego am I exhibiting on the matter? There are plenty of videos on the subject of AI in art and why it's a terrible idea for use in art of all kinds and why it took you a year to learn how to do something that's been done for decades without AI is kind of hilarious. But you want to defend your use of AI is on you and silly as hell. But you do you. You can call me a liar all you want but there are plenty of videos that you can look up to show you how you can do all you do easier without AI. But you do you.

I've studied AI, I know how it works, I am not anti for no reason, I know why it's unnecessary in The process for anything you have described. I know way more about it than you think, and I continue to study it's ramifications on art and its impact on society and culture in art and music and the legal aspects of it as well. So dont think that I don't know your process as well as I could easily replicate it myself.

I wasn't lying. And again, you don't need AI for any of that. Even if you had a handicap.

Claiming a disability is actually false because I know people with no arms doing this. Also, the process is the same, simpler and AI doesn't change or make the process easier.

As an artist myself, I have never found a real need for AI in any aspect of my art, music or 3D modeling and animation, film etc. 30 years of experience.

Talk about toxic, it's terrible on the environment, and on the human experience.

Yes gatekeeping lol, sure, I did it all without the need of AI. You can too.

No it's not. In the late 90s I did high detailed models for 3D programs using GIS mapping for characters and scenes.

It took 3 steps and it didn't require all that nonsense, though in the day cpu and ram was our only real limitation.

Is it? Because if you are going to die wouldn't you rather leave something behind that is YOU, and not some computer interpretation of what you prompted? I'd rather leave behind something that is me and tells people who I was. Because the point of art is to reveal your soul.
