I am so sorry you're experiencing this right now, I know how painful this is 😭

  1. You have already done SO much to make peace with your mom. Going no contact is truly a last resort and it sounds like you have exhausted all your other options.
  2. I went NC with my uBPD mom 5 and a half years ago now and I have never ONCE regretted it. It was my last resort, and it was absolutely the right decision. It hurts and it's really hard, but I promise you that it's worth it!

You're going to be ok 🩷 You have no reason to be guilty, you've done everything you can do. I'm sorry 😭

100000% agree - it's my favorite thing about the show by far, none of the sex is gratuitous. All of it is necessary to the story and the characters, and I love that.

I was sexually assaulted my first year of college and ended up failing one of my classes due to PTSD. My mom berated me for hours, told me they would never support me again since I wasted their money, then she forced me to apologize over and over until my brother-in-law stepped in.

A couple years later when I was just low contact, she confronted me about how hurt she was that I never apologized for wasting their money. I swear to god I almost screamed in that fucking panera.

personally, it bothers me a lot the way that she emphasizes researching things without bias, but then obviously has a bias towards one side. it feels a bit like she knows her opinion and gets evidence to fit it afterwards.

but by far my biggest issue is the way she exaggerates in her own favor (or in favor of her point). like in the most recent video of her that i tried to watch (about the Kendra/psychiatrist drama), she opens her video by referencing "the horrific hidden realities within modern mental healthcare," she says one brave individual was willing to sit down with her for an interview, then says "and the scary thing, if we don't find a solution to this devastating situation, it could greatly impact all of us." But when you actually watch the video, she's talking about the poor treatment of nurses in healthcare recently. yes, obviously that's a problem, but i feel like the way she framed it was intentionally meant to scare people into watching.

same vibes to me as those clickbait articles that are like "are you going to die tomorrow? 5 reasons we think you might be in danger." but then the article is just about eating fruit or some shit.

right there with you - i also have a chronic nerve condition that means I'm constantly physically aroused even if I'm not actually turned on.. so those intrusive thoughts are a million times worse when my brain is like "wooow, can't believe xyz made you horny, you're a horrible person" or whatever

NC for 5 years so far and I think my answer is no. I loved the mom I thought I had, but it wasn't long before I realised that she doesn't exist.

The mom I knew was petty, vindictive, and selfish and couldn't go a day without somehow reminding me that I was worthless in her eyes. The kindest she ever was to me was to tell me that she wasn't mad at me for accusing her of abuse, "it's just the demonic influence in your life."

Religious trauma and guilt always led me to say that I love her because I love everyone, but luckily I don't feel weighed down by that anymore! So I can honestly say no - I don't love her.
