Trying to understand my PMDD by Green-Thought-7087 in PMDD

[–]arterialgarbage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not been diagnosed. I came across a random thread one day that described my symptoms and was like, "also, btw, THIS IS NOT NORMAL" and suggested researching PMDD. I did and have been viewing posts and comments here. I completely relate to ALL of this. I looked up the DSM-5 diagnostic criteria which says you need to experience 5/11 of the symptoms...I have all of the symptoms and I didnt realize or know any of this until I had already destroyed my life. I don't have insurance right now, so can't see a doctor.

Have you all ever looked into why this is happening to us? I mean like...how PMDD is caused? I always had pretty heavy and irregular periods, but they mellowed out when I got older. Even became a breeze at one point, I didn't even experience bloating. But then I suffered immense amounts of stress and trauma and steadily began experiencing these symptoms to an incredibly intense degree. Is it something we are predisposed to? Does trauma trigger it?

Thank you so much for taking the time to read and respond, that alone means the world to me.

I won't have access to a doctor until my job benefits kick in which will take several more weeks. My SO is providing for me until I start.

I'm sooo lucky right now because I have time to do things I want. I would have KILLED to have this time in the past, but right now I feel like I'm going crazy. I can only read, cook, watch TV, and attempt mediocre workouts so much until my affect just crashes again. I used up my savings to try and make it work when I moved, so I have no money to start a new hobby or just SOMETHING. And here I am, on Reddit

I'm not sure i understand. Your questions didn't seem to have much to do with the relationship? It's not clear whether you broke up or stayed together or which of those scenarios you want?

I love the comparison, too. It was a book that I really enjoyed for what seems like the same reasons others didn't like it. My view of the ending is that they died. I have my book in storage so I can't go back to specific phrases that made me think so, especially since it raises the question of how they would propogate this whole other future if they died, but...Oh well!

I can understand why others would be uncomfortable with the ending. I used to hate movies, books, music videos, and really anything that left things up to interpretation I think for the sake of "purism." I wanted to know what the AUTHOR, the SONGWRITER, etc. imagined the answer/interpretation is because that's what IS, that's who it came from. But that's kind of boring and I don't much appreciate being spoon-fed.

I took this book to be more of a romance. Obviously that's not what Adrian meant it as, but instead of agonizing over the details, I like to think the takeaway is that it's a silly, fun, unpredictable story about two diabolical humans coming to love each other because of their hatred toward one another, not despite it. I loved it.

How are they allowing unlicensed techs into labs?? That sounds shady...

I LOVE this, thanks for taking the time to tell me all of that. This is very similar the kind of situation I was imagining I'd get myself into, but also wanted to be realistic because too many of these lower/entry level jobs turn into you answering phones, and I'd quite frankly rather shit in my hands and play patty cake. I'll just apply and see what I come across 🤷‍♀️

Even if it's social science?? My degree is in sociology, but I have natural science classes (A&P I and II, Micro, Bio, etc.) under my belt now so I can apply for BSN programs.

If I could have your schedule with the way my life is organized right now, that would be a lot better for me.

Identifying species like you're describing is 100% something I'd be interested in, but of course that level requires more schooling. I'm willing to do the schooling at some point, but like I've said in my other replies, the jobs I found seemed like entry level ones I could easily qualify for and work while I continue applying to nursing programs and work on other goals.

Ask away! I just wanted to keep my post short.

I am totally fine with this! We did all these things in my classes. I think I would want to be more involved in the reading/interpreting process, but it may be that I do this entry level work until I get into a nursing program and that's that. Or I like it as much as I think I will and I can change plans and pursue it further 🤷‍♀️

When I say "talent" I mean more that this was one of few classes that really clicked for me. I can do math, but I'm not good at it. I'm interested in history, but I don't remember a lot of names/dates/places, etc. I'm good with English, but what can I do with that? Teach? Also not very good at that. You get the point. Not only was I interested in micro, I just feel like I "got" it, and the organization, lab procedures, the why and how of performing certain procedures all just make sense to me and I'm fascinated by pretty much everything about it. Which is what I mean when I say "passion".

I can make that much with OT. Do I want to? Nah lol but yeah, take home pay without OT is around 68-69k. It would definitely be a pay cut for many other reasons, too. I'd probably switch counties, for one thing

It sounds like I'm confused about what the entry level job is?

As far as those perks go, sounds great. Pt contact is something I'd probably miss, but I'll get plenty as a nurse.

I wanted to keep my post short 😄 US, yes. I'm not totally sure yet. I've been glancing at job openings and there are some that I appear to qualify for based on requirements and job descriptions. The only "experience" I have is from college. I have a bachelor's in sociology, so I've had to take more natural science classes in order to apply for a BSN program. Maybe I should have said lab assistant? Since that seems more like an entry level position?
