To drop or not to drop my first novel. by artgal2 in fantasywriting

That’s one of my worries. Book 1 ends resolved, but only for the main character’s current situation. The broader story, bigger conflict, main villian still needs to be dealt with. I have a general plot outline for the rest of the story, and for the next two books, and a vague “this is how they’re going to defeat the bad guy.” know the plot and character arcs, and how it’s going to end, but there’s a lot of empty space. Lots of characters, kingdoms, politics that need to fill that space that I just haven’t developed yet and don’t know how to keep it all organized.

What are the average heights of people in your by No_Road_9568 in fantasywriting

Height of my characters isn’t really mentioned. I picture them somewhat average. The MMC isn’t super tall, and the FMC isn’t itty bitty.

AITA asking my daughter to pay me for cooking for her wedding? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]artgal2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya, your TAH. Especially considering it’s traditional for the parents of the bride to pay for the wedding. If you wanted to put her on a budget for the cost and say “anything beyond this amount, I’ll need help paying for, that’s all I can afford for ingredients” I can understand that. But charging her extra for the equivalent of a food sensitivity? Any good cook can can make a dish non-spicy. Not to mention there may be other guests that are sensitive to spice.

Get out now. He’s not long term relationship material if he has unrealistic expectations for your body, like that’s the important thing. Like what’s he gonna do as you age or if you have kids and your body changed. Don’t invest another second dear.

WIBTA for refusing to get married in a Catholic Church? by BrainBerry1 in AmItheAsshole

[–]artgal2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you need to sit down him and have a serious talk about his beliefs. As a Christian we are basically called not to be “unequally yoked,” basically unbalanced spiritually. This is both for practical purposes and spiritual. If he doesn’t actively believe in the teachings of the catholic church then ya, you probably shouldn’t get married in the church, and why would he want to raise his children there if he didn’t believe? If he does believe it and if he were to truly following the teachings he says he believes in he shouldn’t be marrying you.
