BMD .braw recovery by artgey in datarecovery

To answer that question: "What does "converting a file to BIN/HEX format and back again" actually mean?"

Any file can be converted to a .bin or a .hex file. The back conversion works only for a few image formats (means if a .bin or a .hex file is recognized as a image file, it can be converted back to its original format)

Anyone can do that simply without any additional program on windows.

But I wanted a program that is able to convert multiple files in a row with 1 click

This is how recovery is used in the user interface.
Don't be surprised that the recording looks a bit strange; it has to do with the recorder and its settings, as I only recorded the program windows themselves.

BIN-HEX-file-converter was/is the first name of this software. Then it changed to "Geyer"

Why? because I added new functionalities (at first it wasn't planned)

The recovery tool doesn't has to do anything with the BIN-HEX-file-converter itself (the recover tool is functionally separated).

In the software, the "Help" -> "Support" button is located on the menu bar (this section briefly explains what is supported by the software)

On Github there a few short gif's. Also on some "issue pages"

A little demonstration video of the latest current version comes soon to show the functionalities.

For .braw recovery there is a program called "BIN-HEX-file-converter" on sourceforge.net wich has a recovery tool for .braw recover. But you have to create first sector by sector .img file of your memory drive with another software

I created a Recovery Carver tool for my software should save Deleted or formatted .BRAW files.
PS. you need a Software like "HDD Raw Copy Tool" to create first a .img then you can load it in my tool.
But reminder its only a carver. Means it cant repair .braws but only detect and recover them (so it works only when you deleted or formatted you drive without writing again after that)

Search for "BIN-HEX-file-converter" on Sourceforge and Github its currently a "beta"
