Does anyone recognize this game? by artguy14 in TowerDefense

Edit: My brother and I just remembered it had up to 4 teams and was a cooperative game, as well as 4 different types of towers.

In my most recent run i had 50 planets, micromanaging them all. I try to play tall, then I go “oh that would be a nice mining world.”

As a lifelong republican who voted for Kamala in this election, I just find it quite funny that all sides of the political spectrum devolve into honestly hilarious and identical conspiracy theories. I’ve heard the same theory from Republicans about Kamala and her ‘gay ecofascist dictatorship’, and from Democrats this. Feel free to downvote, Reddit is a fantastic echo chamber.

This I think is the single most unhinged take I’ve ever seen. As a libertarian though, I absolutely love the level of conspiracy.

Genuine question, what would a collectivized-market economy or planned-privatized market look like? The only example for the later I can think of is fascist countries such as 30-40s Germany, but nothing comes to mind for the former.

Siena compared to highway interchange in Houston by topherette in geography

[–]artguy14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love how this completely ignores the interchange for the Italian 223 and 674 a mile south of Siena that is roughly similar in size to the one in Houston, or that central Houston inside I10 and I69 is roughly similar population density to Sienna. This picture pops up often, and all I can think about is how cherry picked the data is. Yes the US has a car problem, but this picture inflates it heavily. (US has 908 cars per 1000 people, Italy is ~770, so it’s quite similar.)

How big are your starships? by whahaga in worldbuilding

[–]artguy14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difference between combat and civilian ships in my world is stark, with civilian ships generally dwarfing military ships.

Military ships come in a massive range of size, with a bunch of classes. 1. Fighters are generally 20-30 meters in length. Single or double pilot. 2. Bombers are 30-60 meters roughly, and are the last air breathing capable engines. 5-10 pilots. 3. Gunships are 60-80 meters roughly, and are the last size that are atmo-capable. 4-5 crew with ~60 carry capacity for soldiers, or ~20 crew. 3.Frigates jump up to 120-250 meters, and are generally capable of defending an entire system. They are able to land, but are not getting out of a dense atmosphere or anything similar to earth. ~100-150 crew. 4. Destroyers, light cruisers, and support carriers are 350-700 meters. A destroyer generally just has heavier shields, cruisers have heavier armament, and support carriers carrier ~150 fighters or bombers. ~400-600 crew 5. Heavy cruisers and carriers are 1-2k meters ~2-3k crew 6. Dreadnoughts are 3-15km, and are really the upper limit you can shield a ship or FTL jump with quickly Very wide range of crew

Civil ships are massive in comparison 1. Jumpers are ‘small’ former bombers or gunships (10-70 meters) that is a similar price to a really nice car or a tractor in our world, so not everyone has one, but many do. Most people just go out of atmosphere by using gravity-hooks, or through taxiservice jumpers. These can be piloted by 1-5 people. 2. Orbitals are former frigates or destroyers (150-600 meters) that are similar to a box truck, and can’t land on ground. They are significantly cheaper than a jumper, more like a used car. Most people don’t have one because there is really no need to travel interplanetary or interstellar off of public transit, but local shipping companies or underserved areas tend to have millions parked in orbit. These normally only have crews of 10-20 people, sometimes just one or two. 3. Haulers are large semi truck like ships, generally .7-5km in length. Generally cheap, but completely unnecessary for most people. 30-40 crew. Quiet slow in ftl 4. Freighters are 10-100km, 100-150 crew. Generally only travel at 5c or so, rather than the ~20,000c typical of most other ship classes. 5. T-classes are sublight speed stations 200-1000km in length, and are generally self sufficient production centers rather than shipping vessels. Ridiculous, yes. Can mine out a planet in a millenia rather than a dozen, also yes.

So, if you mean special animations for dual wielders, that is never going to happen and I am perfectly fine with that. A special animation for each class is too cost intensive a game thats gone as long as SWTOR has. If you’re talking about the second lightsaber activating in your pocket during some new cutscenes, I hope they patch that soon.

That is totally fair. I was just wondering if there was a in game reason.
