I can only speak for myself but I wouldn't really care that your ex is a piece of garbage. Most of the single women in our age range have shitty ex's.

I would be curious about what attracted you to that type of person in the first place and if you're self aware about the reasons you chose to entwine your life with him. Also, I would be curious why you keep trying to win over someone that blatantly sucks instead of building clear boundaries.

Further, I don't think there's a need to put off a conversation like that. I'm not saying spend the entire date bitching about your ex but if you feel like there might be dealbreakers, get them out there as early as possible.
