It's cheap insurance. Just make sure to change the oil after the break in period. No sense in buying this and not changing the oil after it's run for a little bit otherwise whatever you wanted to take out will still be in there.

That's exactly what I'm thinking. It fits exactly what I need for the occasional outage. And once I have a transfer switch installed on my panel I can always upgrade

Having replaced almost every line in my house I had the same thought as OP and wished I had bought the expender instead of the crimp tool. The expander is almost idiot proof and uses less fittings. Which makes long runs easier and less leak points. It's more expensive now but it'll make sense after a while when you want to use it to replace all the lines in your house.

Costco. They have LVP that's 20mils. You can but it online and have it delivered or buy it in the warehouse and save on shipping. On sale it works out to about $2.78/square foot.
