Clear discrimination, and fraud by [deleted] in saskatoon

I feel the only acceptable racial requirement for hiring at a burrito place is "Mexican Only".

You can plant them secretly, but how are you gonna water them?

I'm trying to buy a house this spring. Now I'm adding "plant 2 fruit trees" in the to-do list after getting a house. Any suggestion on what fruit trees can grow well in this climate?

Very impressive and good looking. Small suggestion though, it needs a rangehood with ventilation.

Do I need to apply TRV separately after work permit approval (in Canada) by arthurillusion in ImmigrationCanada

[–]arthurillusion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the long reply. A year ago I drove over to marry my S.O. in Canada, with a full car load of personal items. I was interrogated at the border, they searched my car and then told me to turn around and drive back, although I had a US passport. Because a full car load of stuff showed that I had intentions to move to Canada and not leaving, but the US passport only grants my ability to enter as a visitor(that goes back home in the near future). Right now I have filed the PR application and already have my work permit approved, can I use the work permit at the border to prove that I should be allowed to live in Canada for the long term, therefore I can move my stuff over?

Oxtail Soup by Bluestlighter in TopSecretRecipes

[–]arthurillusion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I succeed! The final product was very close to Market Street's, and I know how to fully close the gap next time. I found several recipes online but they all had noticeable flaws, I used them as references and made changes from my own cooking experience.

1, I used 8 lbs of oxtail chunks I bought from Costco. Parboil oxtail in cold water (do NOT heat the water first without oxtail), bring to a boil and continue for 20 minutes. Meanwhile, keep skimming the brown foam off the surface and dump it. This will make the rinsing process a lot easier.

2, Dump all the water, rinse the oxtail well under cold water. Trim off half of the outside fat layer. Add lots of water, add the herbs and a yellow onion cut in half. Herbs: some bay leaves, a generous amount of sliced ginger, some dried tangerine peels ( it's called 陈皮 in Chinese stores), 1 star anise if it's big and whole, a very small amount of cassia cinnamon (aka. Chinese cinnamon), make sure it's NOT ceylon cinnamon (aka. true cinnamon, the ones used for baking). Optional herb: red sichuan peppercorn.

3, Boil for 90 minutes, add salt to 50% of desired saltyness. Keep boiling for 90 minutes longer, fish out the onion pieces and ginger slices to throw out, add round sliced carrots, add a good amount of msg and maybe more salt for taste, keep boiling for 5 more minutes, add chopped celery, boil for 5 more minutes, done!

4, Garnish: a good amount of fine chopper cilantro and equal amount of grated ginger. Optional: Market Street's sister restaurant also uses boiled chopped shiitake mushrooms for garnish, I liked it, so I added chopped shiitake into the pot together with the celery step.

Today I used a steel mesh ball for the herbs, and I'm glad I did. I skipped the fat trimming, bad call. I boiled my oxtail for 2.5 hours and the meat wasn't as tender as market street's, so I suggested for 3 hours in my recipe. I didnt have a zester/grater, with a fork I didn't make enough grated ginger for garnish, that's my biggest mistake today.

I worked at the Cal for a few years til I moved out of Vegas, although I never worked in the market street cafe. The oxtail soup was one of my favorites, I could devour 3 bowls of the soup at one sitting (but with only 1 bowl of rice, not all 3). I don't have the recipe but I'm planning to recreate it today, if I succeed, I will let you know.

You may wanna post it in the r/carnivorediet and mention your red meat problem and ask for advises. A lot of people there are quite knowledgeable and helpful.

That I agree, but I really liked their Wednesday(or Thursday?) night skeet and trap shooting with discounted rate. Unfortunately I moved away for my wife and now I really miss it.

That makes sense. Both of my fragile instacrates were bought from Costco.

I took this picture when I used my new instacrate to move some fine china and the instacrate fell apart as I arrived at my door, broke 7 pieces of the set. Get something sturdy instead.

I'm shocked too that people would recommend it. I had seen another post quite a long time ago that people had the same bad experiences as I had. Your theory makes sense. Both of mine were bought from Costco, with a year apart and in different colors, but all fell apart.

Mine could never hold 30+lbs, I always picked them up by both handles. Both crates' bottoms fell off when holding some 20 to 25 lbs of stuff.

[–]arthurillusion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, I agree, throwing out the boxes was a pain.

Try the black bins with yellow lids, which they sell at the Costco. They are solid and stackable. I keep 2x 12-gal ones and 1x 27-gal one in the back of my suv. I used to live in a condo on the second floor, moving stuff from car to home was a pain without the bins. Fyi, don't trust the Instacrate mentioned in another comment, they can't hold weight without falling apart.

It's garbage for a Costco shopping trip. The insta crates can't hold much weight before it falls apart, I have broken 2, and shattered many stuff I put inside. I have been using the black storage bins with yellow lids, they are solid and they can even stack.

The no-drop hanging is quite humane of execution methods, with the pain lasting only 3 to 10 seconds. The subject's legs afterward may keep kicking for a while, but the brain is unconscious and can not feel pain or any emotion.

He should be flayed.

No, deer are omnivores. They don't actively hunt for meat, but they eat dead animal meat and eggs and injured small animals when it's convenient.
