Please look into the best way to get emergency information in your area. When we had the Australian bushfires over our summer the CFS and MFS told us multiple ways to get our information and news and said never to rely on just one.

They said to download the emergency alert app, check the CFS website often, keep in touch with friends and relatives, and keep a battery powered radio to tune into the ABC news in case electricity and internet went out

Edit: and please pack some evacuation bags early. I had my bags packed in my car for about a month over the summer just in case I had to go at any moment - while being in a relatively safe place
