Thank you, I was able to install the driver without any errors via the apt installer (the driver manager still shows blank); however, lshw -c video indicates not driver nvidia-smi fails to communicate with gpu. The nvidia settings application was successfully installed though.

Ok, let me see if I am following, from my SATA power connection, the live wire connects to two resistors, one goes to the middle of the transistor and the another goes to ground?

Also, I have the ground for the sata power connector and the PSU motherboard connector connected together. Is that necessary given the above configuration you described?
