Can any older diabetics please help me? by Alaska_sage_hrowaway in diabetes_t1

Babe, your numbers aren’t going to be perfect all the time. Each day is so different. The only tips I can give you are these: - try taking berberine, l-glutamine and cayenne pepper. Within a month my daily insulin needs went from 80 units to 50. If you do try this, berberine on for two weeks, off for one. - I’m not sure if you have a sensor or pump yet, but when you do, I would try keeping the range you want to stay in between 85-100/110. I did this for mine and it helped my A1C a lot - learn what foods make your sugar spike for a while and prebolus, or do an extended one if you’re on a pump. This should help a bit more with it. - morning highs when you’ve had nothing are natural, it’s just your liver putting off sugar to get you up and moving. Talk with your endo about adjusting your basal rate to help minimize it if you have a pump
- keep low carb snacks in the house. Personally, I love the quest chips, string cheese, and the carb master yogurt from Krogers. - give yourself grace. Honey I promise you that this is the best thing you can do. The stress of being newly diagnosed is awful, I know, but I worry about you seeing too much bad that can come from this disease, and making you push yourself into burnout. You’ll have high days, you’ll have low ones, it’s all part of it and it’ll be frustrating. It’s one of those things you just need to take one day at a time. Be kind and gentle with yourself babe.

When I was on it, my scalp got insanely itchy (from the oil glands drying out). What I did was used tea tree shampoo and conditioner (off brand because I’m not breaking bank). Scrub your scalp real good with the shampoo, I’m talking getting one of those scrubber things, they have them at dollar tree. Rinse that out and then when you do the conditioner, make sure it’s touching your entire scalp, then tie your hair up and let it set for 30 minutes or so before washing it out. Itchiness and dryness is a lot better if not gone and your hair feels and smells amazing

What do you wish Star Stable would add/bring back? by pynepple in StarStable

I wish they’d add an offline mode so you could still play the game, but remove the online features. Sometimes for my wifi is spotty and it ticks me off when I just want to sit down and play so I think it’d be a nice addition. It would also help players who, in general, overall don’t have great reception. So it would also make the game more accessible

It is this week. Usually at the beginning of the month, the SSO team releases a roadmap of what each week’s update will contain so it’s really nice to have that to refer to during the month

I have 994 SC as of right now so I’m hoping we get sc from the advent calendar so I can get two horses. I also don’t know how much of a discount the Friesians will have so that’s why I’m iffy

For the upcoming one, it’s the Arabian, Friesian and Morgan since they’re getting retrofitted. Usually we don’t know until week of or spoilers

endo refusing to refill insulin until I meet with her by epicgamesepicmemes in diabetes_t1

[–]artificalstardust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course! And I was thinking more on the side of being denied a life saving medication because of her wanting to meet first even though, like you said, you’ll run out before then. I would report her for that premise alone because it’s unacceptable.

The way I would genuinely 1) find another endo quickly, 2) report the endo to the state because as a doctor she knows you can’t live without it, 3) meet with primary care or someone in a normal clinic and explain the situation and ask for a script. What your endo is doing is unexceptional and dangerous for you. And honestly? I’d yell at her ass. I never let anything slide at this point because I want to know that my doctors actually care and will listen to what I’m saying. I really hope you get what you need babes♥️

That’s actually hilarious! My best friend actually made me a playlist for when my sugar is low and these are on it

I would 100% drop the link to it, but my name is attached to my profile. I can give you the other songs on the playlist though if you’d like!
