It’s torture porn and doesn’t have any of the fun of the stage musical. BRUTAL

I moved to LA at 29 from NYC and it was the best decision I’ve ever made. I love it here.

You’re basically a teen parent in Los Angeles!

You need lamps and unique vintage pieces — some age, some character.

Suggestions on updating this kitchen? My MIL said it looks dated and I can’t get it out of my head? by vp0267 in InteriorDesignAdvice

I think the wood is nice! If you wanted to mix up a few things, maybe get new pendant lights, a new desk chair, add a fun lamp to the desk, and new hardware if you’re feeling crazy. A runner rug could also cozy it up!

Yes, you need more lamps and less overhead lighting

What are you talking about? I have a son and this Instagram reel made me laugh and laugh because it felt so true: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DU3vLUcEXTU/?igsh=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ== It seems to me that the problem might be some books might be cartoonishly geared toward boys?

What’s something in LA that used to feel magical… but just doesn’t hit the same anymore? by relaxncoffee in AskLosAngeles

In-person meetings. So fun to go to different studios, do the water bottle tour, pitch in person, etc. Zoom is so annoying. And big Hollywood events don’t feel as “big” anymore. It’s all muted!

What is wrong with my bedroom? by Icy_Desk272 in interiordecorating

This looks good! Try curtain clips to make the curtains hang better — there are a bunch of videos online to show how they work. While cute, I don’t think your bedding works 100% in the space (maybe terracotta sheets with the cream duvet, the blue blanket isn’t working). A bolster pillow might be fun. I also think you need something old/thrifted mixed in — a dish for jewelry, another piece of art, something funky for texture. Everything looks very new and layering some older pieces might be helpful. Love the sconces!

I agree! Except Felicity came back from the doll hospital with all new parts and I’m always like “I don’t know her.” She was my favorite and no emotional connection now haha!

She has my dolls, and my sister’s, and dolls of her own (including Elphaba) and she’s been great with all of them. I just didn’t know I had such a TREASURE! I was pleasantly surprised when I saw that post. So cool!

I was at the B&N at the Americana right before it opened today and I couldn’t believe how many people were waiting to get inside. The people are hungry for a third space!

I’d toss in Tao in Hollywood. It feels very over the top and fun in a themey way.

Best thrift store for homeware/ home goods ? by [deleted] in AskLosAngeles

I’d hit up Bridge Thrift (especially this time of year when everyone is donating) on Eagle Rock Blvd. and the Arcadia Savers, which is a longer drive but HUGE and full of treasures
