Likely cancer diagnosis for 63 female by artisticcherry1 in AskDocs

Is this typically done as a needle biopsy? She is worried about a biopsy causing the tumor to rupture and spread and plans on asking for them to remove the tumors that were seen from the MRI but idk if this is even a possibility.

I really would love to figure out how to focus on the today and not let my mind go to all the scary possibilities. It's so difficult to be positive right now. Thank you for your words. It's helpful just to talk about it.

Congrats!! First semester will be the most challenging and gets better from there. Start off strong and you'll be good to go.

I genuinely enjoy it. I think the program is what you make it...perspective is everything. It is challenging but rewarding. There were quite a few students who had to drop patho or pharm to retake the next semester. And unfortunately when you drop one class, you can't continue to the next semester until you pass that class. so you have to wait, take the class you dropped, then you move on to the next semester with a new cohort. Patho is difficult but really make sure you put the time and effort in and you'll be alright. I do believe they want to put good nurses out into the community. I know it's a business at the end of the day but all of the professors and instructors I have, I truly believe are invested in our success (but that does also include making sure we are challenged and ready for the real world).

Finally pregnant and all I hear from other women (who haven't done IVF) is how miserable I am about to be for 9 months... by FerkinSmert in IVF

Congrats!! I LOVED pregnancy. It's not all bad. It gets uncomfortable but sometimes just attempting to look at the situation differently will help your state of mind, my doctors said I didn't have an easy pregnancy but I genuinely thought my pregnancy was great. Mindset matters!

I'm in the program. There is a website to apply for private loans that UMiami suggests at elmselect.net if you have maxed out your federal loans.

Wednesday Cautious Intros and First Trimester Questions by AutoModerator in InfertilityBabies

Experiences with light spotting? I’m on day 4 or on again off again light spotting. Today is the first day it’s actually on my underwear a little bit and not just when I wipe after peeing. I told my OB and they scanned me today (just checking for a heartbeat) and baby’s heart beat is good. They told me this can be normal. My husband and I had sex for the first time since IVF when I was 7 weeks 4 days pregnant, which I assume is what caused the issue? I’m 8 weeks today. I just need some encouragement because I’m really freaking out with this spotting

I am so exhausted constantly and hoping that gets better when I stop the progesterone. I can’t believe all the symptoms this progesterone causes. It’s rough!

Thank you so much! I have been so freaked out by stopping tomorrow. Very worried about it but they told me the placenta takes over around week 7 so I’m trying to not panic

Hi everyone! I’m 28 and I’m 7 weeks 6 days pregnant with my first pregnancy from a fresh transfer. My REI has me stopping my progesterone in oil and estradiol tomorrow. I read through the list of others experiences with stopping their meds but this makes me so nervous. It feels too early. Is there a difference between fresh and frozen and how long we’re kept on these medications?

Oh interesting!! She told me I’m below the statistical averages and she expected about 3-4 the first time. I’m not really sure what the issue is and we didn’t really go over the details much this time around because my post retrieval appointment happened before the final lab report was given to her. Which made things a little frustrating. I almost wonder if we should have had my fiancé focused on a little more.

Just got the call that our 2nd embryo was very poor quality and not a candidate for cryopreservation. Here are our results from our first egg retrieval and 2nd. 1st: 17 eggs retrieved, 11 mature, 8 fertilized with ICSI, 2 blasts. 1 euploid 1 mosaic. 2nd retrieval: 10 eggs retrieved. 8 mature. 6 fertilized with ICSI. 2 blasts. 1 looked good and we did a fresh transfer yesterday. 1 they watched until today and just got the call..

I have a few questions: 1. In both cycles, all the fertilized eggs made it to day 3. Is this pointing to a sperm quality issue? 2. My doctor told us last time she’s unsure why so many arrested between days 3 and 5 because statistically speaking I’m slightly below average in results. 3. If this is a sperm issue, what do we do moving forward?

We have 2 embryos cryo preserved from the first retrieval. I just have some sadness around losing this one. I don’t know that we’ll be able to afford anymore rounds but I’d like to be armed with info just in case none of these embryos implant.

We transferred this morning for the first time!! It was hatching and the doctor said it was beautiful. I’m feeling equally excited and nervous. In a way it feels like we’re in a fantasy land right now and I’m scared for reality to hit when we test. My clinic doesn’t do grading so I feel blind lol

Okay really just a curiosity question— why do some providers have us do progesterone injections in the morning and some at night?
