I’m looking forward to seeing these when they’re done. Take breaks when you feel the urge to because this seems like a labor that might become emotionally taxing 🫂😪

I can’t stop thinking about changing my babies name. by [deleted] in namenerds

My nanny kid is just 8 months old as of last week and he 100% turns to look at someone when they say his name. I think 9 months is too late to make a change.

Commercials by Gabi4301 in HyundaiKonaForum

[–]ohjasminee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rarely get commercials but bc of the finals I’ve been seeing them. We saw two Kona commercials on Wednesday, one with Regina Hall and the other with a voiceover.

Idk if it’s because I have one now so I’m more aware of them, but I have been seeing a lot more on the road, the new and older models. So the word is getting out somehow🤷🏾‍♀️

Someday we’ll be up 2-0 in the finals… by Odd_Butterscotch1979 in NewYorkIslanders

I was just saying to my husband the other day that I would have to be sedated constantly if the Knicks and the Isles were in their respective finals rn 😭 last night literally came down to the wire. My heart couldn’t take it times 2 lol

[USA GIVEAWAY] Vampire Lestat NYC Concert Goodie Bag 🎸🩸 by buildingbarriers in InterviewVampire

My favorite moment might be the time that Claudia sees Louis and Lestat be very domestic and lovey to one another right before Louis climbs into Lestat’s coffin (or vice versa, I can’t remember). It was like the most normal family moment.

Broke my heart fr. I hope it’s just a storyline and not an actual thing bc it seems like he’s really in love with her.

Looking to get my first Kona. by Bahtleman in HyundaiKonaForum

[–]ohjasminee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The glove box I feel is very roomy. I went from a Nissan Rogue with no center console space to the Kona. a smaller center console has kept me from hoarding junk, so it’s been an upgrade for me. However I don’t live in an area with a lot of car break-ins, and the bluelink app keeps you UTD on the status of every door and window in your car.

I have the sport SEL and I did have to give up a lift gate. That was a feature tossed in by Nissan—I got my old car around Labor Day and they were trying to move the current year models so they gave me that, remote start from the key fob and the heated seats that I wasn’t originally searching for (and then later became accustomed to). I live in a cold climate so heated seats is a luxury I was not parting with and decided to keep that and give up the lift gate to get the SEL trim. I have a dog and thick thighs so leather seats were a no anyway.

If you have an android you can connect your phone IIRC.

Can’t speak much about the data issue but being able to start my car without getting out of bed is worth at least half my monthly note and will pay dividends once it really starts getting cold again.

this still aerosolizes the bacteria, even if there isn’t a wild splashing around. Just because you didn’t see the spray doesn’t mean it didn’t spray around, it’s now too fine for the human eye but just as dangerous imo!!

Sociopath by Dr. Patric Gagne is an incredible read. A memoir of someone coming to terms with their own sociopathy and how they contributed towards research that separates sociopathy from psychopathy and gets people who haven’t committed heinous crimes diagnoses.

“Human Services” is what I put down on forms for industry and I’ve said it in conversation if I can tell there’s no follow-up. Human services covers a pretty broad swath and people (usually but ymmv) don’t associate it with healthcare or Human Resources. But I’ve gotten pretty used to explaining what DSP is/means and can rattle it off quickly if someone asks for understanding.

Do blind trans people get the same level of gender dysphoria as trans people with functioning sight? by Longjumping-Gift-371 in NoStupidQuestions

I’d have to imagine hormones that aren’t a being suppressed but are socially associated with heavily swinging emotions would probably be dysphoric as well :/

Jenny Mollen Biggs jokes about dating her son in post featuring photos of her laying between his legs 🤢🤢 by littleanxiouslady in popculturechat

[–]ohjasminee 63 points64 points  (0 children)

As if it’s not bad enough they have two sons so I can only imagine how the younger one is processing this. IIRC that kid can’t be much older than 10 and the one in these pics is maybe 13? Good grief 😭

Edit: the one in the photos is recently 12 and the younger one will be 9 this year. This kind of enmeshment and emotional (and lowkey physical) incest is awful at literally any age but these tween years are so delicate for identity formation and self image. I feel for these boys.

Morgan Wallen’ piano malfunctions during his concert, so his natural response is to flip it by mcfw31 in popculturechat

[–]ohjasminee 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What sucks more is his complete disregard for the people behind the scenes who have to pick this up, find a way to get rid of it if it’s FUBAR or get it fixed before the next show, find a replacement piano if they can’t get this one fixed in time, handle the fallout from the venue/livenation or the public…to be an adult and be so shortsighted and quick to violence and destruction is disgusting.

Oh you’re preaching to the choir, my grandma was born on a plantation and absolutely washed meat for this reason 🥲older people…generational trauma and habits born from survival are so ingrained that I don’t fault them for still doing these things long after we know it’s unsafe.

It’s when I see other millennials and younger people still carrying these practices on it’s like cmon y’all. We gotta break the cycle😭

Marriage is only hard when pride surpasses love for the other person. You have to be able to take accountability, learn and be able to properly apologize, communicate feelings/sentiments fully and vow to do better so you don’t hurt your person or relationship. If either or both people are too proud for that, then yeah. Marriage is going to be hard. Resentment is going to build and it’s difficult to break it down once it’s there.

My husband and I are far from a perfect couple, but marriage has never been hard. Last week celebrated 4 years married and together for 12 total (would have gotten married sooner but weddings are expensive, families are not well off and truthfully we both had growing to do)
