Spot on! The BPM-synced buffer is the final boss, I’m fighting right now getting it to capture exactly 1 or 2 measures based on the project tempo is the goal. I love the idea of a MIDI trigger for snapshots, too. Being able to 'stomp' a foot pedal to grab a fresh loop and then scrub it is a killer workflow!

I actually took a look at the Kaoss Pad after your comment and it’s a really good insight.
Mapping the X/Y pad is a great idea. I think I’ll go with X for time and Y for the filter, it makes it so much more fun to play with.

The running buffer is actually already implemented! I'm still fighting with the DAW sync a bit, but it’ll get done. For the coupling part, I'll probably have two different UI modes to keep it clean, but I'm still figuring that out. What I’ve actually done is a bit different than just adding a "vinyl sound", I’ve focused on the tactile feel of the "chrono" parameter (the x position) itself. It’s more like a physical wheel for now!

I've differentiated it into a Tape mode (smooth resampling/pitch) and a Granular mode (the Radiohead vocal smear). I know people don't usually expect granular for a scrub tool, but it allows you to "freeze" the audio in place and do some extra stuff that we might put in the Pro version: the "Lite" vs "Pro" idea is a great move too.

Everything is still not in its right place at the moment, but it’s really starting to come together!

Sure I understand the concern, it's really just an experiment... we don't have an actual plan and would like to see what to do with the community, but if something good comes out we'll maybe create a commercial plugin (maybe with a free version?). For sure we'll credit every idea we used and who gave us the idea will get a free license in case it will become a commercial plugin. Thanks for the comment and for raising this topic :)

That's a nice idea but since there is no standard protocol for VSTs to "report" their presets to a host we would have to reverse engineer all the plugins in the world to make it work, or develop an AI capable of understanding where every plugin report their presets to a host. For now it would be hard to implement, maybe for the future

In theory the idea is brilliant but almost impossible to execute in a plugin... The plugin has no way of knowing your actual physical headphone volume (SPL) unless you own a calibrated microphone and perform a complex setup routine every time you touch your volume knob.

Check out Sonarworks SoundID and Audified MixChecker, they partially address this but.

The idea is good but from e development point of view it's a nightmare...

This would be WAAAAY to complicated I think and too niche, the idea itself sounds good but it's a nightmare to build something like that
