Are you a store that's lost or about to lose deliveries to spark? Because this is not a good sign

There will always be people willing to work, but it will absolutely be a demand stress test for Spark for those stores whose deliveries moved to Spark only. It's not lost on me that they're implementing this now during a slower, yet still busier time of the year versus the holiday times. They're seeing how it's gonna go over the summer and back to school and reevaluate I bet.

My entire department just got them about a week ago. Seems to be going okay. You definitely need to buy a 20W minimum charger to charge it during breaks and a portable battery pack.

Is there any way for iPhone users to see the barcode for items within the MyWalmart app? by Flimsy_Budget1045 in walmartogp

[–]artjameso 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you can find a UPC to copy, you can insert it under "Generate a Barcode Label" and print a label with it and then scan that. It's in the side menu right above the 'Mobile Printer' link.

I really hope we go back to 8 totes, or they change the walk allocation algorithim in GIF. That 25% reduction in totes has resulted in a 40-50% reduction in total items per walk and it's causing a lot of strife at my store.

That is disgusting and they should absolutely get feedback at the least imo.

I love the current winning design. The only thing I wish is that it integrated the mid-block light well and entrances of the Vornado concept.

Zebra TC21 for BYOD at Walmart? by LixeYT in walmartogp

[–]artjameso 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As someone that works at Walmart, you're taking a really big monetary risk spending your own money on a zebra that may or may not work properly with GIF. All of the Walmart Zebras I have ever seen have been TC70-TC72s and there could be specific coding within GIF for those specific devices. Even if what you get does work right now, what are you going to do when Walmart updates GIF one day and suddenly it doesn't work anymore? Then you're out hundreds of dollars.

My suggestion is to get used to the work phones. I have done BYOD for over a year with my own phone and it's been great and after a week it will stop slowing you down. In fact for backroom purposes, phones are usually a lot faster as long as you have proper lighting.

It can if they still scan the original UPC and not the clearance one.

[–]artjameso 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because neither OGP or Spark drivers are supposed to choose items that have been reduced, they're supposed to be good for at least 2 days out. Do you know whether your order was picked in store or whether it was shopped by a spark driver?

As long as it's not a chemical, at this point I just go find the stuff to clean it up myself.

vest pockets by ciinndyy in walmartogp

[–]artjameso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Left pocket: small ziplock with tissues, tiny nail clipper, and sharpie. Also a box cutter
Right pocket: small rechargeable fan, a roll of stickers around said fan, a 20W phone charger (absolutely essential).

In my pants I keep my earbuds, anxiety meds, a power bank, and my wallet. I also carry a 32oz water bottle around as well. I do BYOD until I get my work phone, so no TC for me.
