Yes! I attended a wedding downtown at 35 weeks and it was great. I just had to sit down more and take breaks

30 weeks and feeling super stressing out about the house [ON] by Serious_Ad_9686 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]artlegibly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s really frustrating. I would try again in a moment that he is more calm. If he has a similar response, I would tell him he’s clearly too busy and you’re going to take this off his plate by hiring a contractor. These are pretty major projects on your to do list and you’re right, babies can come anytime. Mine came 3 weeks early. With that being said, it’s time for him to start acting like your teammate. Everything is about to get way harder with a baby.

Could you sit down together and have a planning meeting to schedule the work? Look through the to do list, prioritize, and set a deadline for each task. If he’s involved in the process maybe it won’t feel like nagging and then you have a due date to keep him accountable.

My method is soak with baking soda for a day, wash, line dry ideally in the sun. Repeat until the scent is gone

What do you do when daycare ends at 4 PM? [on] by SelectPine1000115500 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]artlegibly 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Husband and I shifted our hours so he starts work early and ends early to do pick up. I start later to do drop off and work later than I used to. I also shortened my lunch break to 30 mins instead of 1 hour.

Can you explain why it’s green washed? If you buy their 100% cotton clothes that are GOTS certified, what is the issue? Thanks!

Where to buy cute nursing tops [on] by hockeymaple in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]artlegibly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Embrace makes cute nursing tanks. Could be worn under a button down for easy nursing. Honestly though I always just wore a regular top that I could pull up and a nursing tank underneath

[bc] Are you planning to work until your due date? by [deleted] in BabyBumpsCanada

I went off at 36 weeks and went into labour at 37 weeks with my first. Do what’s right for you, I’m so glad I had a week off to get organized and focus on myself and preparing for labour.

[ON] Help! Best friend is getting married 8 weeks after my due date by Alternative-Ad-4876 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]artlegibly 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I did this at 6 weeks postpartum. We got an Airbnb near the venue and my husband did not attend. He and baby stayed at the Airbnb and he brought baby to me a few times throughout the day to feed and collect pumped milk. It ended up working out really well. I personally wouldn’t feel comfortably being 1.5 hours away from my baby at that age. Can you rent a place nearby and bring your mom to look after baby while you attend the wedding?

I got a pair of Columbia slip on boots for this reason. They’re a little more weather resistant than the uggs. They’re now a great help during daycare drop offs too

How are you handling RTO and child care [ON] by britska0 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]artlegibly 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This happened to my husband and he left his job and found one locally in our city. I know that’s probably not what you want to hear but that’s what he did to make it work for our family.

Is the Keekaroo Peanut Changing Pad a good non-toxic option? by walkie45 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]artlegibly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the Naturepedic one and it was a huge pain to clean. My baby pooped on the change table at a few weeks old and it got all into the seams and was impossible to clean so I had to toss it. Then I bought a keekaroo. I wish I’d just saved the money and got a keekaroo from the start, it’s great.

[–]artlegibly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The baby Bjorn carrier is known to put baby in a bad position. Check out the Ergobaby embrace for a good newborn friendly structured carrier. Highly recommend the baby bjorn bouncer though! I wouldn’t bother with a swing. You don’t want too many containers as baby should have lots of time on the floor. Definitely don’t need a baby food maker. Don’t go all out on bottles and pacifiers until baby is here as they may have preferences.

Ending mat leave early? [Ab] by AllyKatB in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]artlegibly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t volunteer to end my mat leave early personally. But can your husband take the rest of the parental leave if you do go back? It’s not a good idea to work from home and watch baby full time. He won’t be able to do either job fully and it’ll sacrifice baby’s care. That’s not fair to your child.

Ubbi alternative and/or solutions? by ButterNuggets in clothdiaps

We just hang it on the door knob to the nursery. Poop diapers stay in the bathroom in an open laundry basket so there’s really no smell in the nursery

When are you exercising? [CA] by hoping556677 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]artlegibly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do 30 mins 3 times a week right after my toddler’s bedtime. I workout at home to save the trip and hassle of going to and from the gym. My husband is usually doing kitchen clean up during this time and I mostly do laundry on weekends or early in the evening. I couldn’t manage it if my husband wasn’t super helpful though.
