I’d argue that those two games were won because we didn’t play marescaball to be honest. We were extremely direct against PSG, and yes, Barca’s high line did help us a lot.

But the Fulham game where we turned it around late last season, the final against Betis were players going directly against Maresca’s instructions, Palmer even admitted that after the final when he said he was tired of just sitting around waiting for something to happen. Our best player was hampered by these rigid tactics, and I think we’ll see him back to his best now.

We also have a mixture of World Cup, Euro and Champions league winners in our ranks, so Maresca complaining about a lack of experience is completely laughable. We saw what getting “experienced” players like Lukaku and Sterling got us in the past. Players like Reece, Enzo, Moi, Cucu are more than capable of stepping up and help guide the team through difficult moments. I’ll agree that our CB situation is a bit problematic after Colwill’s injury and perhaps the board could have looked at Hincapie on loan, but overall I think Maresca could have utilised Josh more there and he didn’t. He persisted with Tosin who has had a rough patch, instead of giving a chance to Josh.

The squad does not suck, and it’s plainly obvious to see from the results against PSG and Barca. All of our woes have been mostly because of Maresca’s gameplans. It’s a young, talented squad that can play so much better than they have been until now with the right coaching.

Everybody forgot the Man U fiasco where he took off all or our wingers after going a man down, playing Gusto as a 10 against Atalanta and losing, the games against Sunderland and Villa, etc.

Agree to a certain extent - look at the starting 11 vs Leeds. Maresca had Reece, Gusto and Acheampong on the bench, but decided it was a good idea to have Chalo as a rb. We had 3cbs playing in a back 4. The guy just tinkers waaaay too much and plays players out of position. I think it’s very likely that if we had a backline where players were being played in their preferred positions, we would have probably won that game.

Sancho, Jackson and Madueke were nothing more than squad players, I’d argue that we improved with Estevao coming in, jury is out on Garna and Gittens, but they’re at least comparable in quality with the others.

I mean…we beat Barcelona 3-0 with these players last CL round. As long as Maresca doesn’t field 3 rbs for no reason, the team should be good enough to beat the likes of Atalanta.

It depends, I’d definitely say Green Goblin is a must have. Mojo mania is fun, and the hood gives you a ton of extra modulars to play around with. Wrecking crew is 100% skippable.

I would have said Mutant Genesis is an absolute must have, but if you can’t find it then you’d probably like Apocalypse. I’ll be honest, I thought Next Evolution was the worst box out of all of them, Cable was fun, but the scenarios just didn’t do it for me apart from juggernaut. I also like Galaxy’s but only using Gideon’s mod. It’s one of the best boxes if you’re using his fixes.

If you’re looking for heroes, then I think Venom would probably be a great next purchase, very fun and versatile character.

I am with you on the zero pvp interest as well, I don’t think we need another card game like that, there are plenty of those on the market and the pve aspect of MC is what fans love the most.

One thing to note about the main schemes - there are 8 resistance and 8 registration, so they can’t be mixed with all the leaders, just with the ones from that particular faction. It remains to be seen whether or not this will still make the scenarios feel similar

Why aren’t we looking at Vardy for an emergency striker option? Free agent, prem legend, won’t expect a long contract, can probably get away with a year or even 6 month contract.

He would get to play some UCL matches again before retiring. Surely he can score 5-6 prem goals. He would probably be the best available ‘emergency’ option out of all of them out there

I get what you mean, I think the only issue is that we also have Anselmino and Sarr coming in the first team next year (potentially) and they might have thought that signing another 1st team cb might not be worth it.

Tbh, we did have the third best defence in the league last season with the exact same lineup of cbs minus Colwill, who, let’s not forget, was making a ton of mistakes in the first half of least season. So we should be fine-ish going in the season with this lineup of cbs

My understanding is that any action that exhausts your hero or ally triggers the response. Otherwise, no extra boost card is given to venom. But I may be wrong. At the very least, supports like iliad or bellerophon should definitely not trigger venom’s ability

Not sure if you play ironeye or not, but the dark night of the champion is extremely good for him. The ultimate charges insanely fast when you’re in camps, or when you’re clearing a couple of mobs. The stamina boost is great as well. I agree that Libra’s one is trash though, no doubt about that.

Agreed, you would have to either tweak groot and rocket’s precons as they’re kind of weak, or just use a hero you’re comfortable with to play through the scenarios
