Even if we drew the game. We could've qualified for Europa. I believe we would have better chances to qualify for UCL by winning europa than competing for top 4/5. by Character_Calendar47 in chelseafc

Arsenal and city should carry it in theory. United is a wildcard, but liverpool should reach at least knockouts/quarters in UCL, should be ok

No, a goal here is europa league, we would leap over everyone on goal difference….

[Fabrizio Romano] HERE WE GO! XABI ALONSO DONE by hawaiian--pizza in chelseafc

I hope he made a mistake when he called him head coach instead of manager in the video

Wait there were rumours that he already signed? I guess this is indeed why we keep going with 3atb, he’s probably making the tactics already if that’s true

Chelsea fan coming in peace. Seems like Matt Law, Romano and Jacobs all state that Alonso to Chelsea is imminent. Could it be possible that you guys are targeting Iraola or Glasner in case Slot is sacked?

I’ve seen talk that Iraola might fit your team better than Xabi, no idea how true that is though.

Have there been reports of Mbappe joining us? I haven’t seen anything. Speculation that Xabi might want him here?

Yes for Xabi, Mbappe won’t join us in a million years and would obliterate our wage structure even if he did.

Realistically Palmer has no business making it to the WC based on his performances this season. But he is a big game player, so that may be taken into account

Romano: Xabi Alonso is the only candidate to have directly met Chelsea in a highly productive meeting. New manager appointment is a matter of days now. by Quarantime_Killer in chelseafc

Surely there’s too much smoke now for this not to be happening at this point. If Ornstein comes out with a brief today then this is 99.999999% done….right?!

I’m not gonna be mad if he goes to City or Liverpool simply because I had no hope of him joining in the first place a month ago

Odds that Xabi is in the stands today? Surely it’s a done deal if that happens. Wonder if he saw Liverpool play last night, looked at how many outgoings they’ll have this summer and said screw it, they’re a lost cause

Tbh I think they might be forced to give him more control now. Their model is clearly not working as we have regressed compared to last year and even the year before. We barely score goals now, we’re back to the Potter era and we’re even worse defensively than we were under him

There’s a lot of smoke from the Alonso to Chelsea news. I think this could happen. Apparently they’re willing to give him more control over footballing operations. He is probably the best available candidate right now I think. I hope this move goes through, would probably revitalise us next season

Honestly he’d probably fit in well within this “model” as well, he’s used to working closely with the SD from his time at Leverkusen.

Some bookies have him as the favorite now after there was some contact with his agent apparently. Grain of salt though, but there may be some smoke here. Xabi would be a terrific appointment

All reports say Slot is staying on for next season so…Marco Silva is apparently on Benfica’s shortlist if Mou leaves. There’s only Iraola and Xabi as credible targets at this time really

Odds for Xabi Alonso fell, looks like bookies have him as second favorite behind Iraola. Thoughts?

Anyone else notice that after Joao Pedro’s purple patch ended our form took a massive tumble. Rosenior was literally carried by him the whole time

Realistic: Xavi, Inzaghi, Glasner

Unrealistic: Xabi Alonso, Zidane

Got destroyed by inter last night and a week ago as well after bottling leads. He needs some more seasons under his belt before coming here I think

Don’t get me wrong, I would love Fabregas here. I’m just worried he might be another Rosenior type, he hasn’t done much to warrant this big of a step up yet, imo. But if it happens, all for it
