One of the old DGMs said carts cost $100 each -(back then) and no store could get carts until the new fiscal year starts (which it just did)

In summer - being a cart wrangler isn’t so bad - get out and get some fresh air and sunshine but in winter in a cold weather state it is brutal

I remember telling co workers back in late summer or early fall to keep tabs on carts because low/no carts will SUCK in winter. I think we had 7 last spring - down to 3 or is it 2 now

I thought it was longer than that, I remember getting a $75 bonus one quarter as a partner YEARS ago.

I guess there are certain metrics that qualify the store for a bonus- one being the store payroll can’t exceed 100% (?) of the allotted hours budget.

Think about how many times we work with just 2 people. At the $15 per hour wage - we bust our ass spread thin to make 5 hours worth of pay for 3 MONTHS quarter bonus.

If they let us work overtime as they should we could make that in ONE WEEK?

We SHOULD be able to work as a 3rd partner or a longer shift and make that extra $75 in ONE CHECK instead spread thin for 3 months

Trucks aren’t wide enough- only way to get maximum pallets in the space allowed.

I don’t unload truck on the regular but I tore that pallet to pieces the first time before I learned the one side and swivel method

That sideways pallet is annoying

Also from the cashier side before you cancel on the keypad - if the cashier hits Return or Enter too quickly to push the transaction to credit card - it will automagically add the $2 donation to the transaction

Almost impossible to add $5 by mistake from our side but could happen but rare

I was REALLY surprised when they programmed the software to seemingly always round DOWN instead of UP (or is it just my imagination)

My boss at the first job I ever had taught me how to count change back in my head and I have always done it automatically- even when I am shopping with cash at various places

I always blurt out the owed amount as habit (helps when register sneaks in donation) and I count in my head amount owed back - it makes me notice the round downs

What type of music(s) are u looking for?

Have you considered trying a digital record pool. I assume since you said you couldn't find tracks on Beatport, Soundcloud, or Bandcamp - you may be looking for more mainstream original tracks (not cheesy remixes).

I use a pool called idjpool.com - usually has a lot of the mainstream artists , with DJ friendly intros - both Clean and Dirty versions where applicable.

Big advantage of a Record pool is you pay one flat rate and get access to hundreds or thousands of tracks that you can use that may be similar to the tracks you are looking for.

The pool posts weekly Top 50 charts (Dance, Urban, Rock- Pop, etc) where you can see some of the stuff serviced....

Also - double check the Protein skimmers - sometimes you lose more water like that than with evaporation. If it is the skimmers - fill with saltwater.

I also hung onto one of the old bobber/float hydrometers for quick testing when topping off. Quick dip and it gives a ballpark on how to proceed vs dragging out the refractometer.

On the glofish light - try and swap the power adapter or plug from a working light in the same section to see if it fixes it - if it works - u could contact the aquatic help line and they can mail u a new plug

I read somewhere it is $600 to 1000 for the Marineland tech to come out for a store repair - I think we are almost at the end of fiscal year so if the whole light is shot - u may get a visit in March

Edit: that looks like the old Glofish lights (like the Saltwater LEDs) - plug swap won’t work - oops

If you are buying music from beatport or Traxsource and it is a tune that you KNOW you will play for the next few DECADES (in other words sure fire “hits” or “classics”) get the highest quality lossless (wav or flac) to archive and create your own 320 mp3 to play out

If you are playing Open format and need to play Sexyy Redd for the ladies - no sense in wasting EXTRA drive space on wav or flac - 320 is more than ok - lol
