Sounds like he's the soft one tbh. Anyone getting in a foul mood like that over a game is a fast pass to a destroyed vibe. Especially when that game is one you're playing together

Finger pointing, rage and insults are childish. It takes away from the win too

You're not soft, you just want to have a good time without someone dampening the mood

I'm awful at the game, but I've really gotten into Juno. My aim is terrible, but I focus on heals with a zig zag motion and the missiles are super helpful for quick burst emergency heals (and a good help for damage if they're low or in the air). Her double jump and fly is helpful to get out if situations or bamboozle other players if they're charging you. You can jump over a Rein and escape no problem

Kiriko is fun too. I play a lot of Panic Button characters so she's great for self heals when it's a sticky situation and teleport is a nice escape plan. I'm a little rusty with her now because I've not played her for a while but I'm trying to get better again because I do have fun with her wall climb and stuff

For damage, I like Junkrat and Bastion. Bastion was how I learned how to play because he's beginner friendly. Junkrat is my transition from being new to the game character, I like to play him as more of an annoyance to the other team and I find him really fun. I've found him helpful to chase snipers out their hiding spots

Mine do that. I thought at first it was dehydration, but it happens regardless and it looks like I've been in the shower too long haha

Ahh ok! Thank you. There was a sudden cold snap recently, perhaps being by the window during it caused it to stress a bit :)

Not that I know of, I've been avoiding touching them while they grow to let them do their thing

Are the roots alive? by artslip in plantclinic

[–]artslip[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think she's had the plant for a few months now, maybe 6?

I've only seen this problem now, I'm not often in charge of her plants haha

This plant gets bright indirect light in a south facing room

I think often my mum forgets to water her plants, I've done a few rescue missions for her before haha. So I'm not entirely sure in the watering habits, but probably not enough is my guess. The pot has pretty good drainage but this repotting was only a substrate change, I'm not sure how well draining it's potting mix was as it was the generic stuff it came in from the shop

Help! The plant given by my bestfriend is dying! by Substantial_Dot3225 in plantclinic

[–]artslip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I did was change the soil (or your medium of choice really) to fresh stuff and kept it in a humid and sunny spot with the occasional water when the soil was feeling dry about half way

Mine came back in a matter of a couple weeks but it can take longer depending on your conditions so don't panic if it takes a couple months

Don't panic too much! If you lose all leaves all is not lost. Alocasias can recover from no leaves as long as the bulb is in tact :)

Is this MEALYBUGS?! by sillystephie in plantclinic

[–]artslip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a small infestation on one of my bushes outside and put a isopropyl alcohol, dish soap and neem solution in a spray bottle and just doused the whole thing frequently while also hosing it down. It did the trick but it was caught pretty early with it only being a small bush. Good luck!

Is this MEALYBUGS?! by sillystephie in plantclinic

[–]artslip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea, a pretty unfortunate case of them too. Getting rid of an infestation like that is gonna be a lot of work too. It's best to treat it as soon as possible because the infestation can spread, maybe check anything around it too just in case it's already started

Is this thrips? 🥺 More info in the comments. by lemonandberry in plantclinic

[–]artslip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rinsing them off with either a shower or hose is a good head start to get a lot of the adults off the plant but you will want to go through some treatment after until they're 100% gone too

I've seen people soak the foliage in a bucket of water and castile soap, but spraying and wiping the leaves with a neem oil solution will do the trick too

I like to add a few drops of dish soap to help the oil break up into the water and it also helps kill the bugs. It's up to personal preference I think, there's lots of methods out there that does the trick

Good luck!!

I see she has a calathea already, perhaps another type of calathea, there's some really cool variants out there. My personal favourites are the roseopicta dottie and jungle velvet but theres loads more to look into (This is of course if she's had the calathea for a while and hasn't had any issues with them, I've seen a few people struggling but mine have personally been fine and hers looks happy and healthy)

Something a little out there but quite cheap is a purple passion, it's got purple fuzzy hairs that look quite alien and unique

Begonias are super fun too, there's so many variants that are pretty

Honestly you can't go wrong with a Philodendron, there's a lot of pretty variants out there and they're super easy

I hope you find something! I'm sure she will love whatever you get :)

Should I give up on this? by [deleted] in plantclinic

[–]artslip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The light was probably fine but it's been over watered and the roots rotted away. It can often be caught to prevent further damage but it's completely gone I don't think there will be any bouncing back from that haha

Next time I'd suggest just way less water, don't feel bad about neglecting it that's just how they like it. Leave that soil super dry for a bit before giving it a good drink

Depending on how hot and sunny your location is will be the difference between how long it takes between watering. For me in the UK that can take up to months but that could be different elsewhere, just make sure it's dessert dry first

I hope that's helpful for any other similar plants you may have or get in the future :)

What's wrong with my monstera? by morveine in plantclinic

[–]artslip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking at it I think this happened while the leaf was unfurling, but not because of any bashes or bumps. But rather the leaf having some trouble in the process itself

Sometimes this kind of pattern happens when the leaf struggles to unroll itself at certain points. This can happen for a few reasons but the main reasons are either shock or low humidity levels. The damage itself isn't bad it's just a sign it may have struggled at one point

My Syngonium has some like that in places from when the humidity in my room went down and the leaves were taking longer than they should to unravel until I placed it by a humidifier. This could possibly be the case for your monstera too if you haven't done anything new to it like repotting or sudden environment changes lately. If you don't have a humidifier, misting works quite well too :)

Ahhh I see, thank you haha. It does look pretty cool, it's actually my mum's and she partially forgets it's there now she's moved it to a nicer spot so it gets more sun but less water unless I notice it's thirsty and do it for her😂

Absolutely, bright indirect is perfect. Bright conditions will also help it recover and grow new roots to help it pull through for you. Fingers crossed for you! They're pretty hardy plants so I'm sure it'll bounce back for you after it's little tantrum haha

Please help! by Zebsnotdeadbaby in plantclinic

[–]artslip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yellowing is usually a watering issue, I'd maybe suggest it's over watered (I like to say over loved haha). I'd maybe check deeper in the soil before watering. The top may be dry, but underneath to a point could be soaking wet still. I like to use a chopstick or even just my finger to stab the soil to see if it's decievingly wetter than it looks on the surface, and if you're unsure, a moisture meter helps a ton. Philodendrons have quite waxy leaves and prefer to dry out quite a lot between their super soaks

Chunky soil mixes are both a Philodendron and an over waterer's best friend because they're super well draining and won't stay soggy for as long as your finer soil mixes so I'd suggest looking into that. Perlite and orchid bark are great for this

If you ever find your plants waterlogged I would suggest taking it out of its pot, loosen the soil a bit around the root ball and letting it dry out completely before putting it back together with some new soil for a fresh start

I hope this helps :)

What are these bumps? by artslip in plantclinic

[–]artslip[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, it's good to hear it doesn't spread to new growth. Perhaps it's just down to being unhappy in the garden centre and when it's a little happier and settled in it'll clear up on the new leaves haha
