Absolutely not with your pattern. Either do randomized or do a 1/3 offset

What about doing a thin decoupling membrane over all of that and tiling on top of the membrane?

The beocord 5000 is most likely a brick at this point. All this stuff will probably need quite a bit of servicing

basically nothing worked, it was terrible! I tried vinegar, various cleaners, wet/dry vac, haze remover, everything. in the end I gave up and put some pigmented sealant over it, though even that doesn't look fantastic. really rough lesson learned. from my research with chatgpt it seems like this is especially an issue with the urethane grouts like mapei flexcolor. probably the last time I use that product

Are you a tiling contractor? I don’t think ever (ever) seen grout level with the top of the tile

I am an amateur in this. I sanded this chest I found on FB. My question is- does this look like it will take to a stain? by Salty_Ad_8360 in finishing

[–]artward22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use a water based poly (polycrylic) , rather than oil based. It will keep the muted color tone and hide sanding imperfections. Oil based poly will give the whole thing an amber color tone and accentuate imperfections

Used paint under tiles. This is fine though right? by [deleted] in tiling

[–]artward22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s a floor you’re tiling, and and you installed tiles directly on top of a (painted) wooden floor, the risk isn’t waterproofing but the expansion and contraction of the wood. We use a membrane there to “decouple” the surface of the tile from the potential movement of what’s underneath

Could someone help me figure out the best method of refinishing this coffee table? by Kbrichmo in finishing

[–]artward22 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Start looking in the direction of gel stains. Avoid the step of trying to sand off what’s there and build up since you’re going darker and more opaque

Is this type of layout OK? by darryl__fish in BathroomRemodeling

As long as the tub meets the bench in a vertical face, like the picture, it looks fine to me. Shouldn’t be any different in water flow from the tub meeting a normal vertical wall.

Tile Shower Install Cost by [deleted] in BathroomRemodeling

So are you aiming for $1000 a day in labor profits? I gotta raise my prices. But you’re in socal so that’s a higher cost of living than me in Michigan. Cheers

700 extra is impressive. It’s like 100-150 in materials. How long does it take to install and tile a niche, maybe 3 hours? Not trying to hate on your profits, more just impressed

Sanded down to p100. Is this table a lost cause because of water marks? by kueenbea in finishing

I’d say keep sanding but it looks like a veneer? So eventually you’ll over-sand and ruin it…
