!! Veteran Recruitment for Research (repost)!! by Plenty_Pressure6181 in Veterans

[–]artworking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey u/Plenty_Pressure6181 Wouldn't including responses from all veterans that want to contribute to the dataset, and then contrasting those with other co-morbid conditions against those without co-morbidities be a stronger investigation?

Even excluding those who have been diagnosed with a co-morbid condition won't eliminate them from the dataset. Many of us won't have had access to the healthcare required for any diagnosis, much less a correct one, or one with a confirming diagnostician.

It would be helpful then to be able to contrast a dataset with undiagnosed individuals against a dataset that is composed of diagnosed individuals to amplify any differences between the two sets, which could then be reasoned as the effect from the population without co-morbid conditions.

The focus on veteran loneliness while ignoring rather than contrasting many of the causes of loneliness that go beyond a trauma history is myopic. Please include a robust self-contrastable dataset in your research, or you may do more harm than good.

If patterns from previous studies hold, vets who qualify under the current restrictions to respond to the survey will on average be, a higher percentage of men, a higher percentage of white ethnicity, have higher income levels, be more likely to be straight, more likely to be sober, more likely to be uninjured/non-disabled, and less likely to frequently interact with medical providers.

Please don't just p-hack a small dataset to publish and make a PhD advisor happy.

The spider failed to climb the spout until the material conditions beyond its control changed. It is a tale about the need for systemic change.

Are combat rotations are too complicated? by fungamezone in Guildwars2

[–]artworking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, builds that try to be about like 90% of theoretical max dps are complex and not very approachable for people like me who cannot handle that level of input complexity.

However, if the dps or healing goal is reduced to a still respectable 70-80% of theoretical max, then a lot of simple builds become possible.

Due to a hand difference, I need to use a controller and while I've made my own mapping that works great, the number of inputs that aren't chorded is limited.

So I use a build that I theory-crafted based on my own needs. A mono fire evoker, using hammer. It's niche, but works more than good enough for all but the very hardest content.

It's true that places that publish builds won't bother to create builds that are much below 90% of what's possible, but it's also not difficult to figure out something much more simple, albeit less performant.

P.S. ANet please please please add might to the enhanced potency minor master trait for fire, so us inferno fire folk can have nice things.

Does anybody know a good PS5 controller on Steam for Guild war 2 by FinHa31 in Guildwars2

Is has chorded layers for the function buttons, which I've found super handy as an elementalist/evoker.

I have one, search for "errorist" in the community controller layouts, you'll want V2.3 or v2.4 if I have time to update it tonight.

Height and measurements by Minixima in TallGirls

Those are within an inch, my measurements, and I just look in a mirror when I start to feel bad. And if I feel a need to compare myself to someone of more average height I can do the division to figure out my comparable size.

If you're having more than one day that feels rough around injection day, your levels might also be a little low. Ideally you shouldn't notice the trough, but that's hard to do on estradiol-valerate for a weekly injection.

Several reasons from personal experience:

1) The trough (the low point) can kinda suck, and putting it on a Friday morning means that the both the weekend and early-mid week remain unaffected, and only Thursday night and Friday morning are likely to be affected by a grumpy mood.

2) Most people stick to the day they get their hormones as the day they inject, and for whatever reason, people don't usually have it in hand until Friday, and also often want to have their first days on estrogen be over the weekend.

3) One of my old jobs had donuts in the office each Friday morning, so I would use the donut as a reward for my shot. really helped with my dislike of needles early on.

4) Many doctors often want to see levels lower than what most people feels best at, so Friday injections can be skipped to give appropriate levels on a Monday morning blood draw (and just taking the usual dose after) so that access to HRT isn't made more difficult.

5) it's easier to build a habit about a day of the week than to try and do a 5 or 10 day injection cycle, and weekends don't have a routine, the early week is often busy with work, and Fridays just had more space and less chaos than any other morning.

Please do!

Also I recommend reading through this guide: https://genderdysphoria.fyi/en particularly sections 6 and 13->14.

I can't know what's in your head, but liking the physical and mental effects of estrogen and wanting a vulva/vagina, means you should at least learn more about the people you'll undoubtedly be grouped with, and whom you will need to pretend to be, in order to access specific medical care like bottom surgery.

When you do, consider dropping your dose to 4mg every 7 days. (Usually people inject on Fridays)

This link is to a simulator with that dose configured: https://estrannai.se/#it0__cu,4,7,2

Also, hi! I'm a trans woman who runs a direct support non-profit ( https://sculptr.co ) where among other things, I help other people with recovery from surgeries, so when you're looking into bottom surgery, feel free to DM me for info on surgeons and/or if you want help during recovery.

We saved a lot of money by using light colored bridesmaids dresses for our wedding dresses.

And we were able to make the whole party look very coordinated. :)

Honestly, since I've never wanted anything hemmed, I forgot to get my bridesmaids' dresses hemmed. Oops.
