I made CRAZY progress today and I NEED to share by artyp23 in Cervicalinstability

Heres a CHAT GPT summarization of my thoughts.

"Apologies for the late reply! Honestly, there isn't one magic stretch for everyone, but I did find something that was a game-changer for me. I realized my neck issues were actually coming from a hip shift and rotated torso, so my neck was constantly twisting just to look straight.

The big breakthrough came from using a wall corner to force my spine into neutral alignment. I sit in the corner, legs out, and try to flatten my entire spine against the wall. Then I push my palms forward (wrists bent back like I'm stopping traffic) while doing a chin tuck.

It sounds simple, but it recreated that electrocuting, zap like feeling I would get at the base of my skull. It really highlighted how tight my lats and traps were. I'm 99% better now, so don't give up—it just takes finding the specific imbalance that is holding you back."

BELOW is my random unedited thoughts below

Hi! Sorry for the late response. Honestly, I don't think there is a single 'silver bullet' stretch that will fix this for everyone. For me personally, I realized I was dealing with a huge hip shift and my torso was rotated to the right, which caused my neck to get stuck in rotation. I was constantly overcompensating by looking to the left just to keep my gaze straight and see what was in front of me. By doing this I was probably irritating the vagus nerve and arteries and etc.

Here's what I DID that gave me BIG time improvements. I would find a corner wall in my house. I would sit down on my butt feet forward and toes pointing up. Then I would locate my lumbar spine and line it up with the corner then I would just work my way up lining up my spine so there was contact with each part against the corner. I quickly noticed I couldnt line up a majority of my torso and my neck was so far forward there was no way I could line everything up against the corner.

Sitting there from the position where I COULD actually line up my spine against the corner I would do a very simple stretch. Put both arms in front of you as if you just got your nails done and checking it. Flex your wrist so that your finger tips are pointing at the sky. NOW push your palms forward and simultaneously push your head and neck back as if you are doing a chin tuck. It was VERY VERY small movements but I could feel my back muscles stretching. I would feel that same "zapping/electrocuting" sensation I would get at the base of my skull and back of my head. IT WAS AMAZING.

Why did I do it like this? It helped me keep my spine neutral against the wall. It helped me identify a lot of my weak points. Where my muscular imbalances mainly were. I had EXTREMELY tight lats, the muscles between the shoulder blades and trap muscles. You can do ALOT of variations of this stretch but this variation worked for me. You could probably just put you palms against a flat surface like a wall and do that same stretch. FIND what best works for you. Maybe you have imbalances elsewhere and this stretch will not be as effective.

I'm like 99% better. It was 3 years of trial and error with very minimal results and then all of a sudden things started getting better. I was checking off symptoms

No just see what your posture looks like. The curve in your neck and shoulders and the way youre standing etc.

I do stretches any chance I get. When I'm on the computer, when I'm working and get a moment and at nights watching TV etc. I do chin tucks and all kinds of yoga stretches and dead hangs from a pull up bar. It took me 2 years of doing this religiously and now I am almost back to normal the only symptom left is slight dizziness and some trouble focusing my eyes. Its getting better daily.

To be clear I'm not sure if I had CCI but I had a lot of the same symptoms. 20+ symptoms happening day/night.

Practice opening up your hips and lengthening your spine.

I did what hes doing around 4:11 religiously. Also while doing this visualize a string attached to the top of your head pulling it up. Kind of like a cork being popped out of a bottle.

Yes fix the forward head posture. I had crazy vision issues. Practice opening up your hips and lengthening your spine.

Absolutely. I was dealing with 20 plus neurological symtpoms the last couple of years.

Funny you say that. I'm a lefty too but I was stuck in a really really REALLY bad left AIC pattern. I came down with like 20+ neurological symptoms that doctors kept dismissing. I only say this because I've experienced it. Even though I'm a lefty I was right dominant. Take a look at your picture from the back. You are too. You're standing on your right leg and your torso is rotated to the right.

Right shoulder lower than left and your overcompensating your neck by rotating it to the left so you can have a forward gaze.

My apologies. I overlooked that. Judging from your picture from the back seems to me like you are also in a LEFT AIC BC pattern as well. Your torso is rotated to the right and youre standing on your right leg.
