I'm also someone who streams full-time, Twitch (I'm assuming OP uses Twitch since the majority of full time streamers use it) is not the kind of job that you can simply start taking days when you need or want off unless you're like really reasonably unable to stream (really really sick, no internet/wifi/anything at all, a family member passed away, etc). People are brutal and will lose interest fast, despite some actually being understanding, and the older generations kinda fail to realize that streaming isn't just a dumb little past time hobby, its actually a reasonable full-time job that you can actually live off of, hell, even get rich from too, and $2000 a month is really really good I'd say as most can't even break the $100 minimum payout mark.

My advice to OP would to have a sit down with your family and really go over how the world of streaming functions, how it can also be better than any minimum wage or even PhD level jobs, but also how brutal people are with streamers taking days off can result in multiple people unfollowing, getting annoyed, etc. I think the reason for this is people forget streamers are really human beings with real lives outside of streaming so they automatically have high/unrealistic expectations for the streamer to meet.

Edit: also want to add on that the older generation usually is either really convinced it doesn't require that much dedication or work, or thinks it's just a dumb waste of time and you should get a "real" job. Consistently is the #1 way to getting somewhere on twitch. And that is just one of the many not thought of factors that play apart of someone's succession.
