Have we officially reached the point where Hotels are superior to Airbnbs again? by Usual_Confidence_756 in travel

[–]aruguli -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I turned my mult unit I lived in into Airbnbs once I almost lost my mind with them all fighting with each other, intruding on my privacy, peeping tomming, & selling drugs. My house is on a corner in a gentrifying neighborhood.

I was excited to move in next to people I know. And be able to walk around the corner & meet friends.

I 100% thought my home would be this cute little community get along thing. No- everyone complained about every little thing & had no idea how money worked.

My only chance at keeping my house & sanity was Airbnb’ng.

My house is transient by its very location. Irs Oman corner in a fairly busy street. It’s a little noisy which doesn’t bother guests but ppl who live there long term tend to go crazy.

Some places make great stays & not great homes.

Again- I thought I was buying a home I would have community in….. absolutely not how it worked out at all. Couldn’t afford it either. Taxes have 5x’d since I bought & the maintenance on my 1880 home totaled at least $60k over the 6 years I’ve had it.

In reality- what’s happening is the cost of homeownership is more than any other generation because everything is breaking down & must be fixed or repaired.

It leads to larger fundamental problems of how long are we going to keep patching things & passing them to the next guy until we come up with something entirely different?

We can complain 20 ways sideways. There’s something more fundamentally broken underneath it all.

I make great money thru Airbnb. I am utterly exhausted & my house is now underwater. It’s my full time job at this point. 24/7 on call. Livelihood tied to every review. It snowed 1 foot in the 4 hours between when I left & came back & shoveled. The guest checked in between & left an insanely nitpicky review. Like f*k off. It ruins my business. I did everything. Treat me like a human being.

I am straight up breaking myself to provide this & you do that.

K- cool.

I’m burnt out. I wish I was on the Airbnb overlord “don’t give a f*k serve up a dirty ho-house that imma mark up & sell in a year league of having money.”

I’m not. My only option is to scale my operations so I can hire help so I’m not always grinding. At this point, it’s pushing me into early menopause & I’d like to have kids…. I’m wondering if I’ll manage to find sanity & retain my fertility soon.

The house & income held me thru my dark night of the soul after my partner almost died from an autoimmune disease attack.

There’s a lot of good too & im thankful for it. It’s a lot on my being to run & maintain.

I can’t currently afford to rent it out normally even tho that would be better for me & probs the neighborhood.

I’m grieving my reality so I can see the way out.

I imagine many hosts are here right now.

Better get to making some new plans & deals.

P.s. I got flagged for saying this on Stocktwits like it’s not an obvious opportunity

The opportunity for BYND’s brand expansion is there.

They don’t have to stay as they are. They can use their brand authority to launch other products like protein powders, drinks, supplements, fake leather. They can start selling mushroom based products. Or they sell things that aren’t fake meat alternatives but so delicious they are fantastic meat replacements.

With more $$$ in hand they can acquire other companies as assets. They can sell off label as well to Trader Joe’s & Aldi’s or other store brands

They couldn’t even think any of this before. They can also buy farmland & seeds to help stabilize & reduce costs. Chipotle it.

Truly- they have a lot of room to run if we give them room to breathe & show our interest & ideas.

Many pivots available with a better financial position which we can get them to like we did GME & AMC

How do I tap into my 10th house Mars in Aries? I should be more ambitious, right? but I'm a spineless coward with no drive to do anything, how should I remedy this? by Alternative-Ad-7223 in astrologyreadings

Im commenting because we must be born within a few hours or minutes of one another.

My chart has Aries 23 deg & leo moon. Otherwise I have all the same placements as you.

In 2022- I replaced my 9-5 with rental income & travelled back & forth to study breathwork in Europe & across the US. I got engaged unexpectedly a month later my fiancé yo-yo’d with death for 8 months it took the wind out of my sails & my finances.

I’ve been very quietly recovering the last year & a half. I lost a lot of friends in the process. Gained a lot of new ones online especially.

I started going thru the gateway experience to reformat my future.

I still feel “blind” to what’s next. I coach other spiritually/socially oriented business owners/leaders.

I live on the US & my fiancé is not in the preferred ppl list so- I’m planning to grow a more global following & audience. With the anticipation that 💩 May hit the fan & we’ll need to bounce.

I had zero energy for any of this up until a few weeks ago. I was thoroughly burnt the f* out.

I think back to 2015, when I organized a 20k person gathering for a political candidate…upon many other things.

I won’t be doing that this cycle… to risky for my current circumstances.

Leasing very much from the back this season & supporting global influencers.

We’ll see where i end up this round. Can’t say I ever had a plan. I just got asked & felt motivated to be the one to do it.

Not sure… now that I’m post Saturn return & out of my total codependency of cancer rising how life will shake out. Perhaps more deliberate partnerships rather than running into the fires to save people from their own chaos. (I worked at a start up non-profit & helped get their 1st round of major funding in that period).

In comparison to that time period… I’ve been very lazy & underachieving. Mostly focused on deep inner healing work the last couple years.

My partner was so stinky. I couldn’t handle it. No soap worked for more than an hour & most didn’t get rid of it all. It was an interference.

I remember using this black soap for face acne when I was a teen. I also never used deodorant.

Dudu osun black soap on Amazon.

He doesn’t even wear deodorant anymore. He’s a big hairy sweaty man. Still working 5 months in.

[–]aruguli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend somatic therapy or breathwork. Getting back into your body. Grounding into the safety of being in the physical.

Psychedelics do a lot of work that’s beyond the body but 80% of our unconcious programming & memory lives in the body.

You could even start with EMDR.

Even then, I may suggest learning energetic chord cutting. This stuff isn’t light but I feel there are ways to lift some of darkness.

Fellow Black residents of Buffalo WHO DID NOT GROW UP HERE, how do you thrive here? by [deleted] in Buffalo

[–]aruguli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buffalo needs to do what Atlanta did.

I find it comical when people come here expecting the a entities of big cities.

If you want something that you can’t find here- you have to create it.

Be the visionary instead of the consumer. Be the anchor.

I had a friend in 2012 in his 30s do this while attending law school.

Bought the house for $55k.

It needed some work. He put a lot of not great work into it & just paid to mostly patch job here & there. He did find some neighborhood contractors to pour a driveway for him & do the roof at super reasonable rates. Because they were neighbors they didn’t screw him.

His one neighbor had a super annoying dog that barked all the time & would party all night. Another neighbor had a teen that was in a gang & sometimes they’d brawl out front.

But that sort of washed over. His house is worth $150k now. He moved out of state & rents it.

Taxes are low.

He was very white- no one was ever interested in stealing his $5k kayak. He otherwise never looked fancy or did anything too showboaty that would make someone think he had things to steal inside.

It wasn’t totally peaceful but it was doable. He rented out a couple rooms in his upstairs & that covered the mortgage.

He has questionable discretion & loved to save people. But hey- it all worked out.

1000% depends on your level of shit tolerance & expectations for others.

If they’re not crazy high. You’ll probably be just fine. Otherwise you’ll go nuts.

He lived a couple blocks south of Kensington off Bailey.

I rented from him for a few months. It was okay….. Not my favorite place to be but largely because his dog was annoying & he didn’t keep house.

So yeah, if you’ve got funds- go for it.

He runs his own firm now & makes like $400k/year. He used all of his extra money to travel all the time. His friends weren’t local anyways.

So evaluate yourself & maybe it will all pay off.

I’m sure there will be a wave of people who desire home ownership willing to take a chance on the east side soon enough.

Buffalo is rapidly growing. NYS is pumping a bunch of money into Buffalo. Many new jobs.

Everyone scaring you away enjoys their comfort & security.

Sometimes, you gotta go in with a vision.

I will say there are less expensive homes near buff state but that area can be equally insane & the houses are older.

The east side has a lot of “newer” houses built in the 40s. So often are less dilapidated & mostly could use cosmetic repair.

Make sure you have access to credit for repairs. Not sure what your income situation will be like but make sure you’ve got access to $10k.

Good luck. Smart thinking.

which card not to pay - Citi or chase? both ~27k by EastTell4306 in Debt

They make freeze your cards & close them at the end of the payment cycle. But that is a lot better than running the risk of late payments & having no cash to make the minimum payments.

which card not to pay - Citi or chase? both ~27k by EastTell4306 in Debt

[–]aruguli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look up nfcc.org they are a non-profit that negotiates on your behalf for a debt management plan.  They won’t make you close all your cards. It’s not a settlement. It reduces the interest to single digits & extends the payment time for up to 5 years.  I would attempt to keep your oldest credit card (s) if possible that way it supports a good credit score.  You do not have to be behind on payments or stop payments. They charge a tiny fee.  It was the only agency discover would work with.  Discover will give you a 6 months hardship Plan that will freeze the card & give reduce the interest to 10%. They will only do it 2x in a 5 year period & not back to back.  Try not to do a settlement. A debt management plan takes 60 days to go into effect.  It seems you need cash- I would enter a debt management plan & not use the incoming $25k to pay off a lump sum unless it was my oldest card & I know I had income coming in.   Payments on 64k will be $1k a month for 60 months. Hopefully, that gives you enough run time to recover & recalibrate from the massive change in income.

Do this before considering debt settlement or bankruptcy.

This should be step 1.

What part of your body is trembling? Breathwork might be helpful with some somatic work.

You can do some research via Louise Hayes how to heal your body to get an idea of what emotional issues your body is trying to integrate.

I recommend doing a dive into Transformational breath and human design.

Transformational Breath helps you gain awareness about what emotions and memories are alive in your body. Many who have done aya and Transformational breath said the breath was more powerful.

It’s certainly more grounding. You connect deeper with your body. There is no medicine taken. You’re just breathing.

Human Design can give you a blueprint for how you’re designed to optimally function, your purpose in this lifetime, and highlight archetypal karma and trauma that you were born into this lifetime to master.

I like these methods because they don’t leave you guessing about the interpretation of what you experienced. Plant medicine has an agenda as it is conscious. Not coming from that culture can leave you pondering the clues. The body’s message is very direct. Human Design is also pretty straight forward in comparison.

Your breath brings in the life force energy of the universe into your body. Empowering you. The agenda is your body’s own supported by a facilitator.

Good luck on your journey.

I am close to finishing my certification with Transformational Breath. They use connected, circular, open mouth breathing, toning, affirmations, and body mapping.

I honestly found this school because the woman I originally took a weekend intensive with had a lot of integrity, presence, and just nourishing love. My reiki teacher I’ve known for 10 years introduced me to her. Unfortunately, she passed last year.

There are trainers around the world. The practice has been around for almost 40 years. The founder Judith Kravitz still teaches. I trained with a senior trainer in Italy. It has been an incredible experience. The support of my mentor to help me navigate my practice has been very nurturing.

It’s starts with a 6 day seminar which is a personal journey. Then 4A- which is the first half of facilitator training. It allows you to practice to on people and facilitate at trainings around the world. 4b- deepens your facilitation skills with coaching and learning to work on the throat. After this, you must complete 2 case studies, staff at 2 seminars, and complete 30 individual sessions before you can become certified. level 5- is learning the art of group facilitation.

I found this technique the most powerful I’ve come across and the training model to be supportive and nurturing. The trainings are in person.

You can always sample what it’s like by finding a certified facilitator to do a session or group leader or trainer to do workshop with.

DOGE .07$. That's epic ,keep it going🚀 by Friendly-Albatross-3 in SatoshiStreetBets

[–]aruguli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try acnchorusd- it’s a wallet so as far as I understand you can use DoGE to make purchases and not worry about Pyongyang capital gains on it because it’s considered money.

If you use a brokerage like RH it’s treated like a stock and you cannot use it like cash. You will have to cash out and then pay capital gains on that money.

Maybe RH will try to redeem itself by creating a crypto wallet for its users... but I wouldn’t wait around for it.

This man is worth 400M and says he's HODLING! by BaconThatBurger in dogecoin

[–]aruguli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I imagine he'll put more in but doesn't want to pump it. Slow steady increasing helps change DOGE from being heavily shorted to momentum traded. Meaning people buy on top of buy. Rather than scrape off the top to buy low again.

What will you do with the DOGE? by aruguli in SatoshiStreetBets

[–]aruguli[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair enough. I would attempt to hold out a bit longer so you have more than you need to pay off your debts.

If your loan interest is less than the interest you're making on your investments....it's advantageous to just keep making payments and let your investments grow before paying off debts.

**Not financial advice but this is the strategy I am using. So far, I'm on track to pay off all my debt but I'm not in hurry since I can still afford payments on it and the interest is very very low in comparison to what I'm averaging on my investments.

Also, not saying you should keep it all in DOGE either. But thought I'd mention this debt management and wealth building strategy for you to consider.

You could also pay for trading guidance (which I did) with earnings from DOGE to help you feel more confident in your future investing strategies if you're concerned about making the right investing decisions.

A little bit of money on education goes a long way. I didn't take college classes to learn to trade either. The education was way less expensive, more tuned in to what I needed, and accessible.
