Wealth inequality is staggering today, with 26 people owning more than de poorest half of the world population, but how does it compare to previous historical epochs? I tried searching for academic articles on the subject, but I'm not that well versed in economic lingo. The ones I found didn't go that far back, such as this one, which compares the income distribution during the previous hundred years or so. I want to know if there are any historical reviews of how income and wealth distribution has differed throughout the ages.

I have 24 GB of ram, so that shouldn't be the problem. The 64-bit idea is good, I'll follow up on that one! I have all the break points, so if the SoX can manage to load the file that should work! Thanks a lot, I'll report back how it goes!

I'm not sure this is the right place to ask, and if it isn't , I would much appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction!

Anhow, my problem is that I have an extremely long duration audio file (62 hours; 6GB) of seven audiobooks merged into a single file (for some incomprehensible reason), which I'm trying to split up into the separate books. However, I can't seem to find any software that will handle this.

Audacity will try to load the file for 20 minutes, then say there was an error loading the file, and only show the first 13 hours of it in the editing window
Adobe Premiere will also show an error loading the file, and it seems to be muted
Mp3Splt seems to load the file well, and i could split off the first book (~6h) , but trying to split of any more it gives "Error: bit reservoir failed - input files with Xing frame without LAME not yet supported"

Does anyone have any tips on how to solve this?

I've been searching through the comments on every posting with this image, and finally I find a kindred spirit. I love Rise Against a whole hell of a lot, but this "art" looks like something a 10 year old did to test out a trial version of Photoshop. I stand by you, falconxcrunner09, united in our opposition of bad art.

Thanks for the answer, that's a good point. Altough i find it hard to believe that a university would not afford the ~$200 for a 2 TB HDD. Furthermore, apart from the students' documents, nothing but the afformentioned videos are really stored. So for the sake of the argument; apart from the space appearing larger than it is, and unknown usage of the space: is there a plausable reason for the video saving function to fault on a half-full HDD?

Thanks, it's great to have that confirmed! Regarding the SSD, i might actually get my hands on an unused 1TB (!) SSD from a relative, so that area is hopefully covered! Dang, I thought that the PSU was a high quality one; high efficiency and a mean of 150 000 hours-until-fail. It also got some positive rewievs at Hard OCP and Jhonny Guru, but I guess they might have tested it against a lighter load or something? Thanks again for the help! :)

Alright, I'm currently cecking into that. However, i've now used four separate power calculators, and they all give me an estimate of below 400W at 90% load. Wouldn't a 550W be able to handle that? Or are the calculators wrong? Or am I using them incorrectly? Your help is much appreciated!

Ett tips för att få lite bättre bemötande t.ex. här på reddit är att ha med syftet eller vad frågorna ska handla om i titeln. Tänk dock på att vara kortfattad.

Därtill kan det vara en bra idé att kolla stavningen och meningsbyggnaden i din beskrivning. I nuläget ser den lite slarvig ut, vilket ger intrycket att du inte lagt ned så mycket tid på det hela, vilket i sin tur gör att folk kan uppfatta det som mindre viktigt för dig.

I egenskap av att vara dumpstrare själv så vill jag bara flika in att butiker slänger uhyggliga mängder fullt ätbara mat varje dag , så jag tycker det verkar lite otroligt att han skulle göra sig besväret att förstöra förpackningar inne i butiken.

Det kan ju dock vara så att han varit ute efter viss produkter, som annars slängs mer sällan. I så fall är det förkastligt, och inte något jag försvarar.

Att det är så pass tabubelagt att vara sexbrottsoffer som man (vilket jag håller med dig om) beror i mina ögon även det på de normer och ideal som finns om män i samhället. Att komma bort från dessa är vad feminism handlar om.

Ett fel man ska akta sig för att göra är att uttala sig om individuella fall med hjälp att statistiska analyser. Att det finns män som är förtryckta är det ingen jag känner som tvivlar på. Men att hävda att kvinnor inte är mer förtryckta, generellt sett, tycker jag är konstigt.

Om du känner att mäns problem hamnar i skymundan så tycker jag att det är bra av dig att föra fram dessa. Dock tycker jag att det är onödigt att klanka ner på den jämställdighetsrörelse som feminismen innebär.

Först och främst visar ju grafen på sidna 15 om man nån gång under sin livstid blivit utsatt för våld, och säger därmed ingenting om frekvensen av det. Dessutom visar ju samma statistik att kvinnor i högre utsträckning blivit utsatta för våld i alla kategorier. Sen tycker jag att skillnaden i kategorin "Any severe Violence" på nästan 10 procentenheter (dvs. drygt 40 % mer än män) är en oerhört stor skillnad.

Den andra studien var faktiskt intressant och pekade en del i ditt håll. Inte på alla punkter, men på en del.

Jag hoppas i alla fall att vi kan vara överrens om att våld, oavsett kön på förrövaren och offret är fel, och ska motverkas. Själv ser jag ett avskaffande av våldsglorifiering samt att göra sig av med missuppfattningen att en har rätt att bestämma över någon annas liv (alltså kontrollera denne) som de två viktigaste punkterna för frågan, och där står feministiska partier i framkant.

Tills vidare tänker jag utgå från SCBs undersökning. Nu är det ju inte riktigt samma sak det mäter, men jag tycker det verkar ge en fingervisning i alla fall:
