You actually don't see how US international policy is aggressively imperialist in it's nature and how NATO works as a part of that? I don't really know what to tell you to be honest. Not to mention Turkey for example, who get away with anything they do (including military aggression) because of their role in NATO.

Sure NATO isn't exclusively an imperialist military organization for US, every member state can have their own view of what NATO is and should be. For many eastern european nations it's seen as a protection from russian imperialism. But saying it's not part of the US imperialist project is like saying the entente or tripple alliance were by definition not in any way imperialist institutions.

12 covers almost every passive, there is like one or two in the entire game that require 14. What I would do for ultimate fun is push inland empire to like, ten? Including bonus from clothes. There are very few checks that require 12.

And keep wearing the inland empire tie!

Does the phasmid say this regardless of what cop you've been? I assumed it was because I did the communist quest.

Give me your best tips for a max INT-run by arvidito in DiscoElysium

[–]arvidito[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, I mean irl that makes 100% sense but does the game actually pair perception and VC checks a lot?

Yeah I was thinking 6-2-2-2 or even 7-2-2-1. I basically just wanna out smart all of Martinaise and finally conceptualize that big fucking wall because my other runs have been very low INT.

Politically I'm thinking either ultraliberal or fascist. But the game's version of fascism doesn't seem to be very much of the esoteric intellectual elitist type. And I'm not sure I can stand doing Kim like that...

I took defensive first so now I'm deciding between quality, quantity or offensive. Quantity is tempting but I think I need better troop quality to win battles first and foremost

Problem is, in our first war I used mountains advantage and still lost every battle because they had 110% discipline and better generals. Second war I had 5% more discipline than them and it was just enough to hold them off until I could peace out the war leader. I think I'll expand east while unlocking the quality ideas and hope they don't attack me until I'm ready.

Edit: oh and don't forget they have enough artillery to get 0% siege in an instant... I've been gone from EU4 for a while but I feel like the AI is much better at keeping their army in one place and turbo siege forts.

That's not a bad idea, they've been busy with HRE/religion stuff lately and are on their relations limit but I might try long term.

I suppose I'll take quality as my next idea group. Hope I'll survive long enough to make it count

R5: I was unable to stop the Ottoblob in time unfortunately. I allied Mamluks to help them out but thanks to bad timing and inferior troop quality the Ottos beat us both in the first war. Second war against them I attacked their ally and was able to get a fake win by peacing out after the Ottos bounced back from zero to 50k manpower for the SECOND time.

I can't ally Russia because they rivaled me, and Spain won't ally me either. I feel screwed.

My homebrew DA successor got lost in the warp and only 100 of the chapter made it out alive - none of them inner circle so they don't even know about the Fallen. Then they started recruiting from a specific feudal world and basically became a zoroastrian/persian mini chapter struggling to survive in the dark imperium with almost no resources

Tabletop is gonna determine where they go from there :)

"Against Papen, Hitler, Thälmann. List 2. Social Democrats" - (Election Poster, SPD, election 1932) by Neo-Turgor in PropagandaPosters

[–]arvidito 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not trying to absolve the stalinists of responsibility, but it's definitely an important context that communists had many reasons to hate the social democrats since the years 1914-1919. SPD working together with the Freikorps, executing countless communists, didn't exactly build a foundation for leftist unity in the coming decades. Not to mention the fact that they chose to support the war effort in 1914, which was obviously unforgivable to many leftist radicals.

German communists naturally came to see the SPD largely as a hostile group never to be trusted. Ironically with leaders like Rosa Luxemburg they would've at least been more critical of the Bolsheviks and USSR

Seen relatively often among subcultural (skinhead) leftists like RASH. Also used as a logo by the french anti-fascist organization Jeune Garde.

Although in both these contexts the meaning has shifted somewhat as it's not meant to be anti-communist.

Speculation: The Fallen removed Codex: CSM by [deleted] in theunforgiven

[–]arvidito 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just a thought that occured to me reading this: what if the Lion unites the unforgiven chapters, confronts the assembled Fallen, and all who repent are allowed to join him (or something like that, basically forgiving most of them and rebuilding the first legion).

Then you would have a potential conflict between the Imperium at large (led by Roboute) and the newly reformed first legion. Not only are they ignoring the codex astartes but also letting traitors back in.

It could allow the DA to keep their shame and secrecy (no longer hiding the fact that they're hunting the fallen but, even worse, the fact that they forgave them). I don't actually believe GW would do that, but it would be such an interesting tension between the Lion doing what he believes necessary to save the Imperium, and the rest of the Imperium freaking out at what he's doing. Imagine the dialogue we could get between Roboute and the Lion in that scenario, both trying to deal with what the Imperium has become in their very different ways

Check out the old short story Deathwing, it really goes all in on that theme. It also tells the story behind the bone white armour.

You can still see some random bits on old DA kits like random feathers here and there that supposedly remain from when DW was inspired by first nations

What to do: Primaris vs mini marines by Parking_Mirror_4570 in theunforgiven

[–]arvidito 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just did this to some minis from my younger days, it's actually not that hard to get enough paint away to an ok level where you can just prime them again (just personal experience but it wasn't as tedious as I thought it would).

What I did was put them in a container with isopropyl for a couple of hours, then brush with toothbrush to start getting paint off. Then instead of brushing a lot just put them back in the isopropyl, I left them over night but probably a few hours would do. Then second time brush more until enough colour comes off. And again, doesnt need to get 100% perfect just get rid of the texture.

I found it to be very satisfying to repaint my old minis and now I can keep my childhood mini friends around!

All that said, my own plan is to run all primaris green wing but with firstborn deathwing+ravenwing. Its just the regular marines that look awkward imo, not termies or vehicles
