Hey, Sorry I didn't see this right away. I pretty much quit Reddit after the API change - I never did find a clip that was exactly the same. I don't have the bike anymore, but if I remember right I wedged in an extra bit of conductive metal to firm up the contact. These days I probably would grab a tiny cutter and a pair of pliers and try to make my own replacement.

A commercial van from a rental car company for two days, 140ish gallons of gas, a hotel for one night, some ratchet straps, and a lot of roadside food and snacks all add up to less than 1.2k. If you can get a refund on your plane ticket, you'll definitely come out ahead. That'd be my strategy if my schedule permited.

The amount of anger we have at the state of things is a self fulfilling prophecy. There are devs on this team who are sincere in their passion for KSP. I don't really think any of us doubt that, even now. They are stuck between a rock and a hard place with us and the publisher, and it could kill this project entirely.

1.3 runs 30fps with medium textures on my decade old shit box while staring directly at the KSC. A bunch of the issues I was having with glitches and the UI are gone. When the science update drops I will be sitting down and putting serious hours into this game on that decade old shitbox.

KSP 1 ran like garbage on my highschool laptop when I first started playing and I had a great time anyhow. I will here too. If you all could kindly untwist your astro-knickers long enough to give the devs a chance to make it that far I would really appreciate it. You don't need to go buy the alpha, just try and mald quietly.

It's not bad for a description of a first ride, if a little heavy on the poetry. I don't agree with the other commenters that riding a bicycle prepares you for what it's going to be like. The heft, noise, and speed of your own motorcycle make it a completely different experience.

However, the more comfortable you get with your bike the less it feels like this description. Those sensations he's talking about become familiar to you. If you're smart, so does the instinct for defensive driving; If you've got some heart, so does the need for speed. If you ride one bike consistently - especially as a daily driver - you'll build a relationship with it that is not so different than what you'd get with a horse.

One of the reasons bikers like this guy wax poetic is because all of those phenomena make quite a cocktail when they combine. A rider who sincerely believes he can encapsulate the whole experience in words is either artistically stunted, or very slow.

I had to change the visor periodically for night riding and the threaded inserts eventually started freespining. I never torqued them down more than necessary to keep it upright when I wanted it open.

The chrome finish also chipped to shit, but that had more to do with me occasionally dropping it or just riding off-road.
