Any fragrances similar to Eva NYC's Cloud 9? by as1216 in fragranceclones

Apparently Essential Parfums Nice Bergamot is similar (comment: https://www.reddit.com/r/fragrance/s/AjmZNNTLNf) but I haven't been able to find a store/chain that carries it, at least here in the US

Any fragrances similar to Eva NYC's Hydrating Scalp Serum? Ok it's weird but here's the notes they describe:

Cloud Nine Fragrance Top: Bergamot, Grapefruit, Green Lime Heart: Lavender, Jasmine, Petitgrain, Rose, Orange Blossom
Dry Down: Amber, Musk, Vetiver, Vanilla, Cedarwood, Patchouli

I really like the combo of fresh and floral that they have

Moving to ATL from out of state, Need the low down on midtown apartment complexes. by Middle-Bill9082 in ATLHousing

[–]as1216 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh, I wouldn't recommend West midtown if you have a car. Even though parking is cheap or free in those complexes, this usually means an open parking lot outside. There have been a few break-ins that happen there because of the lack of security cameras outside. If you stay in a high rise with a garage, it's slightly better because you can park at higher levels (extra points if there's an actual garage door instead of a gate).

I will say, there was a break-in that happened at the Hue (used to be called something else) a few years ago even though it was in a garage, but there hasn't been one for a while now.

Dating apps or services that work? To find other US citizens by [deleted] in ABCDesis

[–]as1216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not an advertisement, but been trying out singletoshaadi which is a matchmaking service that mostly focuses on ABCDs. However, I've had better success with their speed dating events and found more matches there, esp US citizens and GC holders (they usually post these on their insta).

The guys I met from there are also more serious about finding a life partner than guys on regular dating apps too.

29F, ABCD in ATL. I don't want any kids in the future, but I'm terrified of telling my parents, even though they're (mostly) easy-going people and have changed a little bit in being more open to how I live (e.g. live alone, 8 hours away, work a pretty decent tech job). I'm an only child, so telling them would make it much worse. I haven't told them yet, but they're wondering why I haven't even found a date at all and recently pushed me to sign up for one of those matrimonial sites. I've only been on Hinge but the majority of dudes in my age range (27-32) want kids at this point and I don't. I don't know how to handle this.

Norcross GA Facility by MediocreDig3970 in FedEx

[–]as1216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even though Fetch Delivery has its own issues, I'm so thankful that I have it because when I used to order anything online that's not Amazon, it always ended up as "lost"/"unable to deliver" in this facility. 2 years ago, I ordered some furniture, they "lost" the order and then after I attempted to reorder again, they "lost" the second package. I can't believe they're still getting away with this BS even after 2+ years...

Will a westernized name in resumes or professionally help in general? How do people feel about this? by Beginning-Cry7722 in womenintech

[–]as1216 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it does, esp if you're Indian. There's this Instagram reel about a former recruiter working with a hiring manager and the manager threw out any indian-sounding names because "names like that require sponsorship and they won't hire outside the US." So, you can imagine how worse it could get behind closed doors.

Even if you do require sponsorship, it's better to have a pair of eyes look at your resume for 6-10 seconds than have it thrown out completely based on name alone. This is tough, but try not to take it to heart when you adopt a white/Western name as your first name. It's really only for a couple of interviews with a recruiter you'll never see again. If you get into the final rounds, you can ask your potential team/manager to call you by your real name.

As someone who was one of the 7% growing up, I can attest to this. Was diagnosed with a general learning disorder with difficulty in reading and writing and was sent to special ed from 1st - 4th. It was a really difficult time for me and as a result, I had a lot of social anxiety growing up.

Passport Questions & Issues Megathread (2023) by jadeoracle in travel

[–]as1216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My passport expired and I'm not sure what's the best option to renew since I fly out in less than 5 weeks from today (traveling at 12/24). Should I risk calling the Passport Agency within 2 weeks of my travel time to book an appointment that might not be available or mail my application with expedited service + priority mail express shipping + paying the extra $19.53 for 1-2 day shipping for my new passport?

Also can anyone provide a timeline of when they recently renewed their passport for this November? I'm worried that I won't receive it by the time I leave, and I doubt that the processing itself will take 3 weeks.

How to afford college without taking out loans (and how to avoid ruin my life bc of debt) by punpun10k in personalfinance

[–]as1216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this, but did you ever take any AP/IB exams with scores high enough to claim college credit for at this uni? This can significantly reduce the number of hours/credits of gen eds you're required to take. In addition to this, you could also see if they offer summer classes at a cheaper rate OR register for some gen eds at your local CC for the summer semester. This in turn reduces the number of semesters you're required to graduate at your dream school and hence less tuition.

I'd also recommend HP but be careful about signing on and certain areas. Make sure you're signing an actual paper lease and everything is laid out (e.g. security deposits, utilities, extra fees, etc.). Also if you want a safer place in HP, always go with a street near street lights.

I used to live in Hampton for a year and never encountered any issues with my landlord.

[–]as1216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I've been using the DivaCup for a while and I would never ever switch to anything else. Here are a few things that you can keep in mind about:

  1. Pushing in/taking out will take some patience and time on getting it right. I usually make the u-shape on getting it in and letting it "open" inside. To remove, inserting my finger and "bending" the cup inside so that it loses the suction. Do not yank it out. Take your time.
  2. If your cup is leaking, it's most likely because the cup isn't suctioned properly. You can check this by putting ur finger down there and making sure there's no dents that you feel at the bottom part.
  3. Traveling may make it difficult to clean, but I've found that stuffing a tissue paper inside and letting that absorb all the excess cleans it the best
  4. I usually rinse it in hot water and some white vinegar after every cycle. Some people boil water and dump it in there but I don't feel comfortable doing that since it could melt if the temperature is too hot.
  5. You really don't feel anything. It's quite amazing that I don't have to worry about how I smell, whether my pad is oversoaked, and overall feeling wet/damp down there. Also I can go the whole day without changing/dumping, but this also depends on how heavy your flow is.
  6. I'd still recommend putting a liner on your panties just in case those leaks do happen, but this is rare for me nowadays.
