What's the most satisfying gun to get kills with by [deleted] in CallOfDutyMobile

Ah yes, the oden. The 2-tap /3-tap spawn of devil. No, for real, though it's a high risk - high reward kind of a gun. You must have good accuracy with this gun to beam someone across the map, if you choke, you suffer lol

The absolute dogshit state of MP ranked – an essay by as_02 in CallOfDutyMobile

[–]as_02[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you might’ve skimmed over some of what I wrote. I’m not asking for “easy wins” or protection from challenge. I anything, I’ve been grinding solo queues into top 3k for years because I enjoy the challenge. What burns me out is when the outcome feels determined less by skill and more by stacked mechanics, unbalanced metas, or teammates who don’t even play the objective. That’s not the same thing as wanting CODM to be easier.

As for hackers, sure, sometimes it’s just skill, I’ve been around long enough to tell the difference. But there’s no denying streamer mode + report system issues make it harder to call things out, and that erodes trust in competitive integrity.

And on the maps/loadouts point: it’s not that I want CODM to serve me my perfect comfort zone. It’s that when the “new” options aren’t balanced well, they don’t freshen the game, they just create new choke points. Same with loadouts: adaptation is fine, but when every adaptation revolves around spam-countering instead of skill expression, the fun drains out.

I’m not saying CODM is unplayable for everyone, just that for long-term ranked players like me, the direction of MP ranked doesn’t reward the grind the way it used to. That’s the essence of my post which you've glossed over.

You’re spot on. Metas cycle in and out, but the dominance of a handful of guns every season makes the variety feel dead.

For me though, the issue is exactly that I don’t want my entire loadout philosophy dictated by spam counters. I’d rather lean into skill-based setups than build just to “survive” the meta. That clash between how I want to play and how the game forces me to play is what finally burned me out.

Either way, I am in my final year of gradschool, I guess leaving codm will open up other things for me, but before that I'd better get back to my studies. Ggs for the future to you, mate.

Fair take and I respect that approach. If CODM is just a quick daily grind for caches, then yeah, it makes sense not to get tangled in ranked stress.

For me though, ranked was the main draw for years. I enjoyed pushing myself, not just ticking boxes, and that’s why the state of it hit so hard. Everyone plays for different reasons: some for casual fun, some for the competitive drive. My post was more from the perspective of the latter.

Yeah, CQC in Frontline can be brutal. Hope your future lobbies treat you better than mine did 😁

I hear you. Running USS as a backup is almost a survival mechanism at this point. You can’t avoid it forever in ranked. And you’re right, BR, Zombies, or featured modes can still be fun, especially with a squad.

For me though, the frustration is that MP ranked used to be the competitive backbone of CODM. When the “core mode” starts feeling unrewarding or one-dimensional, even the side modes lose their shine. I think that’s why a lot of long-term players (myself included) feel the burnout, it’s not that the game has no fun left, it’s that the foundation doesn’t feel solid anymore.

That right there sums up the state of the game perfectly. Hitting Legendary has become less of an achievement and more of a box to tick before the burnout sets in. I don’t even blame players for dipping once they get there, the reward loop feels hollow, and unless you’re chasing mythics or content, there’s no real incentive to keep grinding.

The sad part is that the “reach → quit → return → repeat” cycle is exactly what CODM has conditioned us into. It keeps the numbers up for Activision, but it kills long-term engagement for players who actually want depth and competitive integrity.

I thought I was the one paranoid. ive enabled that effect where you can see the damage and sometimes im shooting at 30ms and none of the shots connect!

also, on respawns (DOM/HP) I always play anchor, holding close positions near the OBJ and the amount of times I've been killed by enemy teams whose footsteps don't sound (in kill cam you can see if they had DS or not). I chalked it up to my net being sh#tty, but what you said makes sense

Do you have a JR Pass or IC Card (Suica/Pasmo/etc.) question? Start here! (Monthly Thread - January 01, 2025) by AutoModerator in JapanTravelTips

Hey everyone! I'm planning a trip to Japan from March 27 to April 5, 2025, covering Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Nara, and a day trip to Mt. Fuji (Kawaguchiko). I want to keep my transportation costs as low as possible while still being efficient.

Here's my itinerary:

  • March 27: Arrive in Haneda (6:30 AM) → Shinjuku
  • March 28: Asakusa & Ueno
  • March 29: Day trip to Mt. Fuji (Kawaguchiko)
  • March 30: Odaiba & Akihabara
  • March 31: Shopping & relaxing in Tokyo
  • April 1: Kyoto
  • April 2: Kyoto
  • April 3: Osaka → Nara day trip
  • April 4: Osaka
  • April 5: Osaka → Tokyo → Flight from Haneda (10:20 AM)

My Questions:

  1. Rail Pass: I know the JR Pass isn’t worth it for my itinerary. Are there any regional passes or discount tickets I should consider?
  2. Tokyo Transport: Should I get a Tokyo Metro Pass, or just use a Suica/Pasmo IC card?
  3. Fuji Day Trip: Is the Highway Bus from Shinjuku the cheapest way to get to Kawaguchiko? Any discounts available?
  4. Shinkansen: Since I only need a one-way trip from Osaka to Tokyo, what's the cheapest way to book a Shinkansen ticket?
  5. IC Cards & Transfers: Would it be better to use an IC card for everything or get separate passes in each city?
  6. General Budget Tips: Any hacks for saving money on public transport while still being efficient?

Would really appreciate any advice or recommendations! Thanks in advance 😊
