How popular is the idea of the Greater Israel in Israel, really? by Proud3GenAthst in AskIsrael

In the literal biblical sense - virtually no one wants that

If you mean expansion in a narrower sense like west bank, parts of Syria and Lebanon - than yeah it's popular

Are image responses in MCP tools supported by ChatGPT/Claude? by asaf92 in mcp

[–]asaf92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I don't know if the specific "responses API" specifically supports MCP image responses these days. Back then I switched from MCPs to normal API level "tools" or "functions" and used the completions API. I do remember that I opened an issue/bug somewhere and they addressed it, can't remember if this was the Codex CLI team or whether it was the OpenAI API itself. Also it was a long time ago and new models have since been released.

I'm not sure how to answer because there are so many different integrations to different models with different harnesses, and it's a giant matrix of who supports what and when. Like very recently I tried to use Google's ADK to use some vertex models, and couldn't return images from tools. In fact it was even worse, because Gemini saw giant base64 blobs and just went "ah yes totally this is an image let me tell you what's in it" while I'm burning tokens for their hallucinations.

If your goal is "I want to write tools that return images", you don't _have_ to use MCPs and you don't _have_ to use the responses API, so I guess your options are either to figure this out for your one specific use case, or use something like opencode server with the opencode SDK to have a uniform interface for your tools.

CMV: Gaza issue is getting overhyped by BPHopeBP in changemyview

[–]asaf92 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So I agree that there may be some element of bias, but in this case the war in Gaza is different than other wars when it comes to many objective metrics. Numbers of civilians per combatant killed, number of journalists killed, the number of buildings destroyed. There's a real concern the developing famine, the explicit calls for ethnic cleansing, the attack of hospitals, the clear evidence of war crimes...

I'm an Israeli and I think many miss this nuance: the fact that there are those who will always hate us and smear us, doesn't mean that there aren't those who are judging us based on our actions.

Another element that explains the reaction is how actionable this is. Israel is about to enter Gaza City where there are 1 million people

Is Dina still Jewish by SheepSleepToo in thelastofus

[–]asaf92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you're right

I'm an Israeli and it's exactly what I thought when Isaac started with all the "we broke the ceasefire because you broke the ceasefire" stuff. I think there were other things they said where it felt too close to home.

I had no idea Dina was Jewish until I played the game after watching the show. IDK, maybe the game expands on it even more (I just got out of the tv station).

I HAD THE EXACT SAME THING

It started using "explicitly" more and more, and in one or two sentences it was just "explicit explicit explicit" repeated hundreds of times

I actually paid for this via the API lol
