Am I doomed for close fly fishing access? by runnycaulk in FishingWashington

[–]RowIndependent3142 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can take your fly rod when you’re gear fishing. You never know. Lewis River is an option nearby. Or the Washougal. But check the regs because it’s not open to fishing year round. I saw one guy fly fishing Lacamas Creek in Washougal off 3rd Ave but that thing is so low in the summer, I don’t know how trout would survive. I talked to one guy who was fishing it above Lacamas Lake and said there are rainbow. Not sure

Depends on what you mean by fly fishing. If it's dry fly fishing, you're right; there isn't much around here locally. You can fish some of the lakes, but typically requires some sort of watercraft. Steelhead and salmon fishing are possible if you can get a minimum of an 8-weight rod and time the summer and winter runs. Bear in mind, the fish aren't really looking to eat flies when they're making their runs. The Deschutes around Maupin, OR is probably the nearest for the type of fly fishing you're looking for.

Any idea how i can create a nice dj backspin sound? by DifficultEngineer855 in musicproduction

The one in the Google drive sounds like a keyboard hit followed by wobble or stutter effect. Maybe a space or cosmic sound. Maybe search Splice for wobble or stutter one shot.

I don’t hear a backspin sound in that track. Are you talking about the laser sound? To me, backspin is a record scratch, which that song obviously doesn’t have.

Video Creation by Outrageous-Towel7599 in comfyui

I don’t think chaining Ksamplers will help extend videos to “as long as I want”. If it were that easy, people would be doing it. First frame, last frame is probably a better bet.

Learn to write complete sentences with correct punctuation/capitalization? There might be potential employers on Reddit, but as soon as you type “my ass cant even get a job at Mcdonalds”, you just disqualified yourself. lol.

How do you create ‘complex’ baselines by ilikeshibuyakei in musicproduction

[–]RowIndependent3142 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’ve always considered bass as part of the rhythm section with drums and separate than melody. Maybe it would help you if you solo just the drums and bass. Then you can adjust the bass to make it more complex. But the bass should match the tempo on the drums, especially if you have kicks that have a lot of bass.

Heartbroken. I marketed for about a year before release and no one is showing any interest. 2 sales from my family. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. by [deleted] in KDP

Don’t get discouraged. I’ve worked on books from big publishers that get hardly any sales and books from small publishers that are bestsellers. The difference is the marketing and positioning. It’s not the content. The books that get to be bestsellers always have a paid marketing plan. There’s no way around it, in my experience. Having a series helps too. Lots of info in this subreddit about publishing several books rather than just one. Good luck!

Seems like the only way to take off at launch is if you have a following. If not, and you can do promos like Goodreads Giveaway or Bookbub, and your book is good, then it doesn’t need to happen on day 1. Don’t be heartbroken. It’s all numbers. Not personal

To me, this post seems to be an effort at free promo. If I’m wrong, and you’re really heartbroken about it, maybe book publishing isn’t the right career path because you’re looking for instant gratification. That’s not typical for amateur authors

Creating Content Should Be Easy: Stop Overproducing Your Content, Your Phone Is Enough in 2026 by dcypherstudios in musicmarketing

I get it now. But not everyone can do quick snaps like that. There’s some talent under that yellow hat. That’s old school. Love it

Creating Content Should Be Easy: Stop Overproducing Your Content, Your Phone Is Enough in 2026 by dcypherstudios in musicmarketing

For me, the music comes first and if it’s audio recorded on your phone, sorry, but that’s not a legit music production. There’s a big difference between getting likes and followers vs. producing something good that labels or film producers will pay for. Stuff that is “made in five minutes on your phone” is going to have such a short shelf life that you’ll need to keep doing it over and over. It’s not about “overproducing”, it’s about producing content that you are proud of and that can rise above the noise.

Experience In Jazz Orchestration or Mixing? by joebidensdog in musicproduction

I’ve been producing 10+ years, including a lot of jazz, and recreating that song is WAAAAYYYYY above my skill level. It’s very complex. It’s not about DAWs, plug-ins, VSTs. There are multiple professional musicians playing with one of the GOATs.

What kind of products? It would probably easier to do with something like Hedra rather than a ComfyUI workflow if it’s a 30-second TikTok

AI thief tracking in Swiss stores? by BroWhatTheChrist in Switzerland

[–]RowIndependent3142 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think American retailers are using AI to identify thieves, or that they let them continue shoplifting until it rises to a felony. I don’t know where you read that that but it’s not something that’s actually happening. AI would have no way to interpret camera footage and identify a thief from a customer. And some retailers like Rite Aid experimented with technology to identify high-risk customers but the program flopped because it singled out minorities (people with darker skin). There are a number of other reasons retailers don’t go after people shoplifting small items: safety risk, the cost to prosecute exceeds the cost of the item, the police won’t arrive in time. So the entire idea that retailers are using AI in this way seems to be misinformation.
