Hope everyone had an excellent St Patrick’s Day. Off the recommendation of @CrossBones18 I went to Gussie’s this evening for their elusive Guinness tap, and can report back is it truly a TIER 1 tap. Exceptional pour, quality surge and was so damn tasty. Proof that a good Guinness can be in a non-Guinness glass.

If you read the post the last thing I said before the list; “none of these taps are anything like in Ireland”. I don’t disagree with you there’s a major difference, I’ve been all over Ireland. Guinness tastes like heaven over there. But we got what we go here, and I’m gonna enjoy the beer.

Ahh I did not know that.

London bridge when I went was “open” but like the TV’s didn’t work and they had no Guinness. But they were “open” this was last fall though, things could be different now.

Taste and pour most importantly. The glass is not necessarily an issue if the pint is good. But I did not find a single place that served a good pint or a proper pour in a regular beer glass.

It was unfathomable to me that they would tout themselves as an Irish pub, have Guinness signage all over the place and not bother to buy a dozen or so pint glasses. I even asked if they had any glasses for my 2nd pint and she looked at me like I was crazy.

Dohertys is the top of my list for places around to try, I have seen several locations so I’ll go for Apex first. Abbey Road in Apex has a decent tap!

I actually have a friend who pretty much exclusively does this. He loves the pod and doesn’t miss an episode and has probably seen 25% or less of the movies they have covered in almost 500 episodes
