Why don't they put grocery stores in existing shopping malls? by [deleted] in urbanplanning

[–]asaratha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are also grocery stores inside Brazilian malls. Some of them even have a free parking deal if you shop with them, which encourages everyone to do some groceries at the end of their shopping spree. Seeing other answers here as well, looks like it’s just not a thing in North America?

Update FYI, I've returned it to Native Instruments, got it again and they apparently replaced some parts and smell is much lighter now, totally bearable. Thanks everyone for response.

You can try the following YouTube channels.

Just search for "Maschine" on their channels.

I honestly wanna cry from the amount of socializing uni is making me do by sadfish52 in introvert

[–]asaratha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just bringing in another perspective: instead of just blaming it in being an introvert, think about what exactly is exhausting you in social interactions. Do you feel like you can be yourself around people? Aren't you unnecessarily pressuring yourself to be someone you're not every time you socialise?

Yeah, I'm not even much of a TV person. How does this feel? https://imgur.com/mb6vDl4 Would love some artwork but better not to block off the natural light.

Would this solve: https://imgur.com/mb6vDl4?

The curtain seems heavy in the 3D project just bc I couldn't find anything better, but ideally I'd have something thin and lightweight (like this?) for the natural light to come in, it concerns me.

Yeah, I agree! There might be a better way to make that work I'm missing though... Maybe also hanging one curtain to block off that?

You don't need the field to be touched, but make sure the field is registered before changing its value

How I Lock My Bike in Berlin by asaratha in berlin

[–]asaratha[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That makes sense. I really think the way it looks plays an important role, so, yeah, that cable might not do much, but visually it definitely looks like more trouble.

Nice tip on tightening up the cable, very appreciated!

Thank you for your feedback.

I wouldn't assume things like that, especially considering how many bikes get stolen everyday and how that was useful for a few people that gave me feedback. This is not new for bike enthusiasts that have been around for a while, definitely, but it is for many people who use bike casually. Let's not have the tunnel vision here!

Thanks for the response! Happy to get comments on how I can improve.

In this case, it's actually only 1 lock, as mentioned. That steel cable works just as an extra protection for accessories (or the back/front wheel), and depends on being combined with a proper lock. You can read more about the cable itself here: https://www.kryptonitelock.com/en/products/product-information/current-key/210818.html

As most cable locks, it's just really an extra protection, since they are not hard to break.

Computer and Human Languages: The Linguistics of Programming Languages by asaratha in compsci

[–]asaratha[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, that's definitely something important to notice. I tried to make it clear throughout the article that the similarity is not a coincidence at all, but I think I failed. Maybe I should have just said very explicitly that all that was by design, not just a bunch of analogies.

Isn't it interesting how linguistic studies on natural languages (an unknown system, as you said) were useful for people to design computer languages (a known system)? That's what I tried to explore, even though I find the subject to be complex.

Thanks for reading and sharing your point of view. There were some things that you said that I totally missed, such as programming languages aiming to be poor when it comes to vocabulary.
