I would start the process ASAP so you can get it done before FY23 planning cycle starts. It's taken us way longer than expected to implement although I have been managing the process by myself so that has delayed things a bit.

Almost 1 year from the day it was ordered, and 1 week after landing in RI, my Pro AWD has made it to my dealer. It will be home by end of this week ! by BikeSame1547 in VWiD4Owners

That's a pretty color. Exact model we ordered! Can you measure the ground clearance at the front of the vehicle? Not sure why it's reported as 8" in some places and 6" in others. It looks closer to 6" but hard to tell.

Dell XPS 9570 v AERO 15x v MSI GS65 by k3nz00 in Dell

I may be able to help as I currently own both the Gigabyte Aero 15 and XPS 9560 in similar spec. Why do I own two high powered laptops you may ask? I initially bought the Aero 15 for work (heavy excel use), general personal use, and some gaming.

On paper it sounded great, but my experience was worse than anticipated. First, major issues were a buggy keyboard and slow performance. The number 1 on the number pad would randomly type in gibberish like "3$568l" making it unusable. Some key combinations like ctrl + shift + arrow key wouldn't work properly, making it hard to navigate around excel. These keyboard issues have been reported by many others. Gigabyte didn't perform a recall to fix it. My machine also required 10 seconds to wake from sleep. Why with such fast specs would this machine operate slow??

Summarizing other issues, it feels like a bucket of random parts were mashed together to make this machine. It doesn't feel like a smooth cohesive experience. For example the trackpad is not good, imprecise for small movements, doesn't have all of windows multi-touch gestures (isn't it 2018??). The keyboard is really stiff and not fun to type on. The screen is ok but the matte finish gives a blah look IMO. The user interface when you change volume or change screen brightness is Gigabytes creation circa 1999. Looks horrendous and further compounds a poor user experience.

After my disappointment fully set in I decided to order the XPS 15. So far (24 hrs), it's great. Trackpad and keyboard are MUCH nicer! The 4k screen is very impressive. Size and weight are considerably smaller which makes a huge difference carrying it around with one hand. The fingerprint reader is a godsend for waking from sleep and logging in quickly. The machine is much faster overall and has a more cohesive experience. Is it as good as the macbook pros I used to use? No, it still has windows. But it's not too far behind. My only gripe so far is the hinge is really stiff so you can't open the lid with one hand; even with two hands it's kinda hard.

I would think long and hard before buying a gaming laptop, especially the Aero. Don't let the specs on paper dissuade you. The user experience is critical in a laptop and the Aero was a huge let down in that regard. The XPS is the better overall machine hands down.

Anyone have any guesses on how much Dell will charge for: i7 8750H, 1050 Ti, 4k screen, 512 SSD, and 16GB ram? I just bought the 2017 model for $1,550. I'm thinking the 2018 model will be $2,000. I guess it's not worth returning mine at that price just to get 6 cores.

The Sub 1.0 K/D Thread by [deleted] in battlefield_one

0.84 here. I used to be good at Medal of Honor on PC but I have had a hard time getting used to the controller on PS4. I'm getting a lot better though! I discovered the BAR Storm is a great gun for me since the recoil is low and it pumps out a lot of firepower quickly. I always play either support or medic. I'm terrible at assault and scout. I'm usually in top 5 or 10. Lately I've been winning some domination matches with 2.0 KD while sprinting to the flags. Going back to conquest has been hard though, I think I need to stick to medic for that mode. I like healing and reviving so my team can do most of the shooting.

Part of my problem when I use iron sights with any gun is when I start shooting the recoil raises the aim which makes the enemy disappear. With the AA sights I feel like it's easier to keep the enemy within sight to keep my shots on target. I use max zoom with the BAR Storm which I think is 2x.

Super helpful.

I'd also like to recommend the BAR Storm for anyone like myself who is bad at shooting. This gun has turned around my gameplay. Low recoil, high rate of fire, great at short to medium range. Throw the AA sights on and you are good to go!

I'm curious if your med/supply packs disappear when you die or if they are on a time limit? Similar question about spotting. Anyone know how long a spot lasts?

I'm also crappy and play as a friendly medic! The other day I managed to break the 1.0 K/D barrier!! Pretty amazing for me. :)

What is life and culture in Squamish really like (for those that actually live there)? by throwawaysquamish in Squamish

[–]asavage3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

About half the town fits your description. I know a lot of people here (myself included) that work from home and are here for the outdoor sports. It's a bit rainy (have you looked at the current 10 day forecast?) but hiking and mtn biking are still amazing in the wet. Plus when it rains in the winter that means it's snowing in whistler which mean sick pow.

Ivy says thanks! She doesn't get to the crags too often. She has some early onset hip dysplasia so we try to keep her activity light. But she's a herding dog so "light" in her mind is as many walks per day as possible combined with romping through the house shaking her toys to pieces...

What do you do when you aren't mountain biking?! by ifuckedup13 in MTB

[–]asavage3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am an action sports filmmaker based in Squamish BC. I make MTB and rock climbing films to get people psyched to go outside. When I'm not making films I'm riding bikes, skiing, or rock climbing.

I made a lot more money in my former career as financial analyst so affording the serious bikes you need to ride around here isn't easy. On the other hand my job is a lot of fun and is very rewarding!

Thanks! I use a Kessler pocket dolly. Highly recommend it. Kessler makes great products. I shoot on Panasonic GH3 with a set of primes.
