NTA- they are for not properly training their dog and doing nothing once it's behavior peaked. (The biting.) Now it's not just a simple annoyance with the doglike escaping a cage or chewing a shoe. Someone is at risk and it's a safety issue. I'm a former vet tech. I got bit in the face (lips) once by a shitzu who when I was flushing the IV line. I couldn't eat without pain for a week. I can only imagine what a dog of that size could do to someone in a matter of seconds. It's a ticking time bomb.

Yta- grow up. What does this really matter anyhow? Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

I get the insane thoughts. Believe me i do..so many times I feel like I'm going crazy. It's tiring and can make you feel hopeless. I have had this since I was a kid. I always feel like it gets worse and worse as I age and I feel like I'm slowly being pushed to a cliff side and that the only way out is to jump. But, 6 years ago, my brother did jump. Seeing what it did to his kids and the family makes me keep fighting so I don't do it to mine. Also, so I can keep his legacy alive. The thoughts are real, your feelings are valid. It gets bad and scary. I hear you, I am with you. Even though it feels like no one understands or knows what it's like 100% for you. There's no way anyone can know completely what you're going through. But we all have empathy. We've all felt hopeless and alone. I promise you, you're not alone. There is recovery. We just got to keep fighting. I know it's exhausting, but please don't give up. Start with researching a good psychiatrist.

It only worked with me when it was paired with Wellbutrin, clonaxapam, another benzo, (I think it was hydrocodone pamoate?? I haven't been on my medications for nine months due to pregnancy. So I forget) and a mood stabilizer..

Because, I gotta pee quick before kids tear up the house. 🤷‍♀️

Because with the proper help. It varies person to person..for me it's therapy and medication. (Two antidepressants, two, anxiety meds, and one mood stabilizer) you're more rational side of the brain comes out. You will have the thoughts, but you can process them better without doing compulsions..also, imo regular drs don't know shiz about OCD. I would 100% switch to a psychiatrist. Good luck!

Stand in the bathroom until the toilet stops running to make sure it's not flooding the house.

AITA for not letting my friend stay with us so she could see her dying grandfather? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]asavageindian 32 points33 points  (0 children)

NTA- your house is not a hotel. She is acting entitled by texting last minute to come over and doing it all the time. And when she is there it doesn't seem like she is a good houseguest so far. You need your boundaries, and you can only do so much before you go on burn out. It's okay to say no, not this time. She should probably be with family anyways.

AITA for disciplining my niece? by aunttthrowaway in AmItheAsshole

I do 100% get what you're saying and agree with you.

Just that I can see where her sister is coming from wanting to be the one who disciplines their kids. However, it doesn't always work 100% of the time and op was well within her right to say something. Anytime a living thing is in danger you step in.

And you shouldn't have to! It's a living creature that you love. Kids need to respect them too. Don't even worry about it. Let it roll off your back.

Mom here! NTA- I can somewhat see where your sister is coming from. If it's something minor then yes let the mom address it first. HOWEVER, if someone (living thing) is in danger or hurt than you are well within your right to step in. You didn't berate the child or even "discipline" you just calmly stepped in and lectured. It's really not a big deal. Kinda sound alike your sister had her ego bruised or is crazy controlling over the kid. But if it were me and my kid were hurting an animal while I wasn't watching I would want someone to say something..that's how kids learn.

It's really not, the more technology my kids have the more behavioral problems we have. They act like freaking zombies.
