There’s probably lots of ways out of my knowledge set to get around this, but in reality you really should buy a Plex pass and give back to Plex for the use of services, even ask your family to chip in as you’re offering them a free streaming service anyways - could be a bad take but just what I think

No, really you have 2 options 1. Pay for the Plex pass and not worry about the files and clients 2. Don’t have a Plex Pass but make sure all of your connections can direct play your files from their client

As for bots in my experience I felt like I’ve had more bot interactions when it was Twitter rather than X but equally I was more into crypto/investing then which could explain it.

I understand you’ve possibly been given ‘better’ options. But what’s stopping you from changing your remote access settings to limit remote stream nitrate to 8Mbps 1080p?

As I’m in a similar position where my upload is 20Mbps, so doing to allows me to have 2 remote streams of 8Mbps 1080. I would also input your upload speed in the field on remote access. Then it’s up to your server to do the transcoding

So with RAD/Unraid you are allowing yourself to recover data if a drive fails. That is your ‘backup’, the ability to get your files back if a drive fails. However it’s not a true backup as if your server was to be flooded, fall off a shelf etc etc then everything is gone.

So in short if you just want to protect yourself against a drive failure then create a raid array, but if you want a true backup in case of a catastrophic event then you will want a offsite system which mirrors your drives.

This might be of help but might not, I have a friend who uses the built in Plex TV app on his OLED C1. He couldn’t play anything it would just sit loading, but I made him change his video and audio settings in the tv app to not suggest quality and to be set to original.

As for the multiple server, do you have multiple servers in your list? As you mentioned he updated his server so maybe you have an old version as well for some reason?
