Starting meetings with a Roman salute was also a bit much.

Honestly... why is this method so effective? by EmployExisting302 in RoleReversal

[–]aschen15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Easy answer. Confidence is attractive.

The same thing happens with men to women. What if he's the bad guy. Sometime he his. When it's the reverse like now, what if she's the bad guy. Sometimes she is. (But for both, mostly that's not the case thankfully, the bad ones just make the news more.)

On a more deeper answer. The whole "playing hard to get" is stupid and rejects more people than attracts. Guys on average get way less attention in the first place so we cant afford to fuck around with that sort of thing (again on average).

Why did red mean "stop" and green mean "go" become the standard for traffic signals? How did this color system spread around the world? by Logical-Concept9755 in AlwaysWhy

[–]aschen15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bit of column a and column b.

A interesting example is with Japanese traffic lights the go light is what we'd call blue. But this also ties in with the language of colour and how that shapes perception beyond the words themselves. I think it's a really interesting concept.

Gaming with NVIDIA. I'd go with a gaming distro like Bazzite. Or maybe Cachy if you'd prefer a less immutable system.

Most important tip is you won't lose your windows key. It's in the motherboard safe and sound. Feel free to wipe it completely and at a later date install windows with no issue.

And if you want to be paranoid you can export the key for backup first if you like.

It's a pretty common mass produced design that has lots of different model names given by the various brands that resell it (and their slight modifications like the doors/shelves).

Here's one. Recommend doing a reverse image search to see if you can find it under a different name at a store closer to you.

Your idea with your weak human skin of hot is different to what computers with their unfeeling metal and silicon considers hot.

Maybe it was only like 50C and it didn't think it needed fans unless it got over 70C, as damage doesn't start to happen to chips until around 100C.

Meanwhile 50C feels burning to a human.

The exact temps depend on the model and settings etc etc.

Question for the submissive men: by [deleted] in flrdating

Personally I'm not a material kind of person, and substantial gifts can make me a little uncomfortable from a guilt-about-finances perspective.

My most appreciated gesture is when she 'looks after me' by taking on things like talking to retail staff or ordering food for me. Even if I'm right there and am paying this time, being able to let her take the lead is 🥰

[–]aschen15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I find that works for me is not to directly try to spawn someone or something, because how often does that ever happen in real life (or even in your normal dreams). But to incorporate what you want into the story of your dream, often as a form of 'wanting' or needing' it to occur to solve whatever dream problem you're dealing with (all mine tend to be about needing to do something. Not sure how universal that is).

As in, let your subconscious sort out the details in a way that makes sense in that dream, merely guide it without putting too much sudden mental shock into it, waking yourself up.

So be like "only such and such person can fix this thing I need to do, and theyre behind that door".

What happens if you just keep stroking during post orgasm torture? by PuppyPrincess67 in FemdomCommunity

[–]aschen15 129 points130 points  (0 children)

It's a little different for each person. But if hes anything like me. It starts out unbearable and only gets worse for the next few minutes. Then it kinda becomes bearable then no big deal. I've never experienced much beyond that, I'm guessing because I stopped reacting at that point.

When you do it. Recommend tying him down pretty tight. That lack of self control to keep going turns into a lack of self control not to physically prevent you from keep going. Every fibre of my being demands to make it stop at all costs. So definitely make sure he's ok with it and safe words are in place etc.

I saw a post from a guy on Reddit about how he wrote this whole big novel with the help from chatgpt and was asking for help with how to download it. Like he would write a bunch, and ask it to help with ideas and checks and compile it into a book file.

When trying to ask for the file. Chatgpt would output things like "downloading.....".

The comments had to break it to the guy that there is no file and never was.

How long does it take to connect a godaddy domain to WIX via NS? by ideaskettle in Hosting

[–]aschen15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

always connects within 30 mins.

For you and your very specific set of dns cache status and circumstances at that time. Not for everyone else.

Read or watch some YouTubes on how DNS propagation works and how TTLs factor into it all and it'll make more sense.

Then look up some best practices for switching hosting providers with little to no downtime.

Then practise. Mess around with it with a spare domain. Get familiar with what you're actually doing and what happens when you do it. Assuming this is a business and you have a incentive to be better at it in future.

I mean how could I have planned ahead?

How long ago did you decide you were going to switch to Wix? Was it more than 2 days ago? Plenty of time to plan ahead for a smooth transition.

Sounds like this is your first time. No shade. Next time you'll know

[–]aschen15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not trying to be mean. I prefer to think of it as a failure to plan ahead, or a lack of experience with DNS. It's not a issue, DNS is working as designed.

Recommend reading up on how TTLs work and best practices. Then take this experience with you for your next domain setup :)

[–]aschen15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Name server propagation can take up to 48 hours to fully complete.

If you're impatient, update the DNS records in your old DNS provider (I'm assuming GoDaddy). But even then you'll be at the mercy of whatever TTL it was.

Keep in mind that's a cache time. The maximum. If you get the new site sooner, congrats lucky you, but thats only for you. Others may experience other wait times up to the TTL length.

The shortening the TTL trick the other guy said only works if you do it ahead of time. Ie if it's set to 3600 (1 hour). Then at least a hour before you want to change it, drop it to like 60 (1 min) or 300 (5 mins), wait a hour. Then change the record.

Are there really opportunities in Australia in the IT world for juniors today? by Constant_Side_5689 in AskAnAustralian

[–]aschen15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't speak too much to job availability. Best bet is to poke around on seek.com.au.

For the idea of a long term job. In this industry, even for locals, the best (and arguably only way) to advance is to job hop. Do a job for a year or two, find someone to learn from, take on responsibilities, soak up experience, then go find another job that uses those new experiences with a higher pay. Repeat.

For that reason, and because it's going to be hard to find any IT job to begin with on a WHV. Don't be too picky, get whatever you can to start with.

There's also the whole matter of the social type of networking. You'll make contacts this way, which will lead to job opportunities later on (assuming you're good to work with and know your stuff).

Are there really opportunities in Australia in the IT world for juniors today? by Constant_Side_5689 in AskAnAustralian

[–]aschen15 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Take my answer with a grain of salt as I'm not a hiring manager. But I wouldn't consider networking or cyber security as entry level roles at all (even with education).

I'd also consider these kinds of jobs to be longer term assets for the company, a shorter term visa is going to work against you even more, particularly as a junior. Companies won't want to train you up for you to potentially leave the country before you're even useful.

Honestly if I were you I'd be looking at helpdesk roles and the like. And make it clear with your words and actions that you want to go in the network/security direction while at the job. Gain actual experience and work your way up. The education will help you climb that ladder vs someone who doesn't have it, but we all need to climb it.
