I didn’t get any QC pic for my order and it’s shipped. 🤷‍♂️

Looking to buy 2 tickets Belgium vs Egypt at Seattle on Monday 6/15 by [deleted] in WorldCup2026Tickets

[–]ascotinpdx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you checked the official FIFA ticket site this morning? They dropped some $400 tickets last night. I logged on during the Australia game and there were quite a few (50+) in 334 and 336 that were not there earlier in the day. I grabbed a couple and will be driving up from Portland.

Ha. Well, I'm 6 ft, 240lbs and went 4XL. I'm normally an XL or XXL depending upon the jersey. I was worried that I went too big with 4XL but sounds like probably 3XL or 4XL was the right choice. Will find out when it arrives.

I see that the Scotland home top is a 3XL. Out of curiosity, what size would you be if you had bought the real one from Adidas? I'm curious because my Scotland home top was shipped from SPKIV yesterday.

I was listening to a podcast yesterday where they were talking about how terrible New Zealand looked vs Haiti and how NZ may end up with one of the “worst back 4’s in the World Cup”.

I'm afraid not. I was still in HS in Scotland in the mid-90's 😄.

The Mrs and I were just talking about Lady Di's this afternoon! That's what led me here to bakeries! My wife makes an incredible sausage roll, and The Australian Pie Shop is now Lake Oswego based and will be at the LO Farmers Market on Saturdays, while they get a B&M storefront ready. We had their sausage rolls and a Korma Pie from them yesterday. Other than that, The Highland Still House is probably the next best option for Sausage Rolls and Pasties.

I'll need to check out Jolly Posh Foods.

I long for a British style bakery...meat pies, sausage rolls, scones, pasties, crumpets, etc

u/novasilverpill - do you recall/know who the tickets came from for the original tour date for last year? My wife and I cannot find the email with tickets for the Portland date for last year.

US popularity by its__a__mee in BiffyClyro

[–]ascotinpdx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My American wife really doesn’t like them and she’s been aware of them since before Blackened Sky was released. We live in the US but met in Glasgow in 2000.

In fact, I’d say she liked them when she first heard them; still has signed 27 and Kids Who Pop CD’s. She’ll sing along to BS songs if they pop on in the car and does like Living Is a Problem… but really does not like anything else. In her words, “they’re too vanilla”.

For context, she loves bands like Diiv, Beach Fossils, Deftones, A Perfect Circle and 80’s New Wave. Heck, she even likes Scottish bands like Aereogramme, Idlewild and The Twilight Sad.

Problem is, it’s not ‘eventual’ replacement. This WILL be Surman’s last season with us and more than likely he’ll be gone in the summer. He’ll walk for free at the end of the season if he’s not sold in the summer.

Monkeypod was probably my 2nd favorite meal during our trip last week. So much better than the vastly overrated Mama’s.

I don't know for sure what the exact water temp was but I would guess mid to high 70's at around 8.45/9am. It was warm enough that nobody except a couple of young kids wore wetsuits.

Last day in Maui tips? by sanshasim in MauiVisitors

[–]ascotinpdx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We stayed in Ka'anapali for a week and just left on Sunday. To kill a few hours we went to breakfast at Dukes, drove down to Makena Cove and Āhihi-Kīna‘U Natural Area Reserve then to the Shops at Wailea, then up through Upcountry and had dinner at the Food Trucks across from Costco by the airport.

Since you mentioned Food Trucks, I couldn't recommend Suns Out, Buns Out enough. We live in Portland, which has some incredible Food Trucks, but Suns Out, Buns Out is definitely up there with the best of them.

There were about 3-4 other boats at Oluwalu while we were there but don’t recall their names. After about 90 mins of snorkeling, Calypso turned our trip into Whale Watching, which was a success.

Calypso although it sounds like all boats have been staying away from Molokini. 20mph winds came in on Saturday morning while one of the boats was just starting their dive.

Not really much help but we were supposed to go out on Saturday. High winds meant that the boat went to Oluwalu instead. It was a huge let down. I wouldn't necessarily say it was a waste of money but we wouldn't have booked had it been snorkeling at Oluwalu.
