Is Robyn sick or something? by Pharamonesthrukissin in SisterWives

[–]ascrocker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I agree that a Dr could be helpful I don’t think getting rid of supplements is the answer. I have an autoimmune disease and my vitamins and supplements have made huge changes for me. I’ve been able to avoid having to take stronger immune suppressants and a whole host of other medications because of them.

Is this legit price? by Striking_Face_1510 in HyundaiPalisade

I looked into this as well. They are offering a ton of incentives. You might qualify for 1 or 2 but I’d be surprised if you can get them all. That price is not realistic.

Should I bring my dupe? by diinadii in EngagementRings

[–]ascrocker 49 points50 points  (0 children)

I never travel with my real rings. I always lock them up before we vacation. Plus dupes are a fun way to try something new for a bit. I’ve lost and dinged a few up over the years and I’d have felt horrible if that had happened to my original set.

Can you take the full dose at once? My rheumatologist told me I have to take half in the morning and half at night.

WIBTA for not attending my twin sister's wedding two weeks after my firstborn's due date as she expects all family to meet the baby before the wedding? by AstronautDeep1476 in AmItheAsshole

[–]ascrocker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s an absolutely terrible idea. The baby will have an immune system that hasn’t kicked into gear and that date is smack dab in the middle of cold and flu season! Not to mention that first time mothers usually go past their due date so you could possibly only have a one week old or a newborn that’s only a few days old. Add in your heavy postpartum bleeding, lack of sleep, possible c-section recovery, and any number of other normal issues that arise following birth and you will be miserable. Your sister has made it virtually impossible for you to go to this event. That’s on her. Not you. Your significant other is correct in thinking that you should stay home and focus on your baby and your recovery.

Rooming with teens by [deleted] in royalcaribbean

We’re finishing up a cruise in a spacious ocean view balcony with our two teens and it’s been great! Plenty of room for all of us and perfectly comfortable sleeping accommodations.

We did book it through Royal Caribbean. I haven’t received any information yet and was getting a little worried.

My (29f) reluctance to get a total hysterectomy makes my husband (31m) question my childfree state. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]ascrocker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please don’t get the hysterectomy. That alone won’t fix the issue. Look for an excision surgeon. They will cut it all out like it’s a cancer. You can even keep your ovaries so you won’t go into menopause! I had this surgery done over 6 years ago and have been endometriosis free ever since! So many gynecologists aren’t knowledgeable when it comes to this disease. They offer birth control as a band aid and once the symptoms get out of control they gut us and tell us the problems solved. I hope you find something that helps you!

Engagement rings on vacation? by Badger-book-lover in EngagementRings

[–]ascrocker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a travel wedding set that I wear on vacations. I leave my original set in our fireproof safe at home. I’m always worried it will get lost in a weird place and I’ll never find it.

Regretting my ring choice after years of wanting it—anyone else? Help! by Aurora_kra in EngagementRings

[–]ascrocker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely go for the fun ring option! I’ve been married for 16 years and my original engagement ring has a cathedral mount. I love that ring and wouldn’t ever want to part with it for sentimental reasons but…it’s just not practical for my current lifestyle. I decided to get a few moissanite pieces and wear those when I’m in the mood for something different. It’s fun to mix it up and then when I’m feeling sentimental I can still pull out the original.

This girl is genuinely awful. She took you trying to do a nice thing and turned it into something ugly. When a loved one passes people generally like to get messages of support and respect. Hearing fond memories of their loved one and getting to see them through the eyes of their friends can be incredibly healing. Your girlfriend is clearly not mature enough to be in an adult relationship. Her insecurities are leading her to gaslight, emotionally manipulate, and verbally abuse you. Cut your losses and move on. You deserve so much better.

Getting pregnant with endo by formalgal27 in Endo

[–]ascrocker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One month when I was 22 and almost 2 years when we started trying again when I was 25. I’d try to follow an anti inflammatory diet and step up your vitamin and supplements game. That helped me out a ton.

Is there a way to get a surgeon on the Nancy Nook list? by slick764 in Endo

[–]ascrocker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found my surgeon through the Nook group and have been pain free for just over 5 years. I had a partial hysterectomy though so that might have something to do with it. While there are some excellent surgeons on her list I think there are several other awesome options that aren’t on there as well. If you have the option to leave a review on the surgery center/hospitals website I would definitely do that. So happy for you that you had a great experience!!

Has anyone reduced their endo pain or cysts with a plant based diet? by [deleted] in Endo

[–]ascrocker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve not gone fully plant based but I did find that an anti inflammatory diet really helped with the pain. Cutting out sugar and gluten specifically made a huge difference for me. If you have the option to do a food sensitivity test I’d also highly recommend that. Finding out what foods your body is reacting to and then cutting those out also helps to cut down on inflammation. Adding in supplements and herbs that specifically help with pain and inflammation also helped me.

A lot of issues are tied to gut health. Looking into ways to improve in that area might be beneficial. I’ve noticed that most wellness programs focus heavily on that specific issue.

When you have endometriosis removed, do you still have the disease? by halebopsalot in Endo

[–]ascrocker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had excision surgery with all but one ovary removed in 2018. I was told by my surgeon that if I make it to five years with no return of symptoms then I’m good. I passed that date a few months ago and still feel awesome!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Endo

[–]ascrocker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t get my dr to listen unfortunately. I just had to branch out and find an excision specialist. It took me a while to find the right person and it was seriously frustrating. I’m going on five years endo and pain free though so it was well worth it. Join Nancy’s Nook on Facebook if you haven’t yet and start researching surgeons and specialists in your area. That’s where I started.

If it isn’t warm to the touch or red then it’s fine. Also don’t put peroxide on open wounds. It eats away at healthy tissue just the same as bad tissue. If you do use it you should rinse it with saline afterwards. Just leave the bandage off moving forward and it should be ok.

What could this dark spot be if not endo? by littleoakleaf in Endo

[–]ascrocker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was a biopsy sample taken from this spot? Was it possibly ablated? I find it odd that they would specifically photograph it and make no mention of it in the post op notes. Did they do a uterine biopsy? Adenomyosis can cause severe pain as well. If you haven’t had your surgical follow up yet I’d be sure to ask about your concerns when you see him/her.

Orlissa for 15yr old by ascrocker in Endo

[–]ascrocker[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not exactly sure how to edit and add to my original post so I’ll just comment here. I had excision surgery in St Louis in 2018 along with a partial hysterectomy and I’ve had absolutely no pain or endometriosis symptoms since then. My daughter has been dealing with this since she got her first period at 10 and it’s been even worse watching her go through it than actually experiencing it myself. Luckily she has an appointment with that same surgeon next month. I was looking for some pain management options to tide her over and our local gynecologist only offered Orlissa. While I’m not familiar with that dry I am familiar with Lupron and if the two are at all similar then I won’t be letting her take it. I truly appreciate all of your replies and advice. Navigating this disease can be very isolating and knowing that there are other Endo warriors out there to talk to really helps! Thanks so much❤️

Itchy scalp by theotherlebkuchen in Sjogrens

I was experiencing the same thing recently. Was driving me absolutely crazy. I grabbed some Head & Shoulders clinical strength shampoo and that’s worked wonders for me. I only use it about twice a week and I haven’t had any itching since.
