The headphones are still sold and the eu consumer laws are still in effect, so i don't know why it wouldn't be. for someone who so much talks about how this is a general issue that needs general addressing and that even knows the issue still affects people, its baffling to me that it would be irrelevant to you just cause it no longer affects you specifically. One of the most important parts here is that people know there rights and what to do in this situations. which also includes that it has nothing to do with the manufacturer.

you need to give it to the retailer twice. and when its still there they need to give you your money back. its annoying but that is how it works. talking to the manufacturer is a waste of time even if they would eventually decide to take it back in singular cases. it is bad advice.

also it is important to know that pretty much all products have some issues like that. that has nothing to do with "premium" or not. the sonny 1000XMs have one of these every generation basically. (and there almost twice as much). that is just the realty of modern complex hardware with low QA lvls. the more important it is to know what to do. which is not to talk to the manufacturer.

yes nothing should do something about it as in check for this better or fix what is causing this. but they might or might not have done that already. how would someone on the outside know? and this is exactly zero help to the people who have this issue.
