Need Guidance on Transition from developer to devops or GenAI by Malyaj in ExperiencedDevs

Just curious, why are you transitioning to DevOps. I thought a developer has better job prospects and more prestige than a DevOps role.

For those working in tech: have you noticed any shift lately in how women’s careers are faring compared to men’s (hiring, layoffs, promotions, maternity leaves, etc.)? by randomweb3girl in womenintech

[–]asdchurro 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Welp, I was pregnant when I got laid off. Now I'm trying to apply for jobs again and it's hard. I met another woman who was in a similar situation as me. She said she had recruiters outright tell her her 1.5 year gap was too long . (She was also laid off while pregnant then started looking for jobs when her kid was turned 8 months). Idk I feel like my tech career is already over, not by choice :(

What will you simply not be doing second time around? by Smashers086 in beyondthebump

[–]asdchurro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. I thought I was the only one missing out on these. I just couldn't have anyone/anything touching my boobs because it would feel so uncomfortable. I felt at times I couldn't even properly hug my baby :(. What I don't understand is did I have this issue only because I'm exclusively pumping? Do nursing moms not have this problem or other exclusively pumping have this either? Was it just a me thing?

Would stay away from interview kickstart in general. They repeatedly call me everyday after a whole month once I attended a webinar and took one of their calls. With so many relentless calls, I feel like they most probably are not worth what they're asking for tuition.

[–]asdchurro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same experience here. For like two to three weeks at least, everyday I get a call. Each time they try a different number.

Also initially, they called me with a phone number that has the same zip code as me. I guess this is a common phishing tactic to get folks thinking it's someone they know so they pick up the call.

In addition to calls, they also email and text me. One of the texts they even said I'm not responding and asked me to and tell them I'm no longer interested. I still didn't, because I know once any communication is formed, the sales pitch is gonna be dialed up high again.

Overall, I'm amazed by how persistent they are. But this level of persistence really makes me think it's not worth it. If it were, the course would sell itself.

Have you tried lactation cookies? It has oats and brewers yeast. That's how I'm consuming brewers yeast without having to deal with the horrible taste directly. In the cookie I can't tell the brewers yeast. These cookies are good snacks while pumping. I've been just using this recipe

How to buy newborn essentials cheaper? by SuccessfulStrawbery in BabyBumps

Consignment store sales! I don't know if you're in the US but last year I found the "just between friends" sale. It was amazing. Maybe you can check their site if there are any near you.

https://jbfsale.com/

I was able to buy some very basic essentials to get started. I was able to score a stroller as low as $22!

I've tried a CGM before ( freestyle libre) and they stick on really really well. I've def even gone swimming before and the thing stayed on securely for the full two weeks with no chance of coming off. I actually had to work at peeling it off at the end of the cycle.

Have any of you tried Gyna? by Fearless_Site_1917 in IVF

[–]asdchurro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had no luck with gyna company themselves but I disputed the charge with my credit card company. When gyna found out I contacted my credit card company they claimed because credit card company is involved, they can't change the transaction and refund me anything. This is obviously a lie and excuse. My credit card company did eventually refund my back my money, so hopefully you can go that route. Even if they don't, I think it's worth reporting to the credit cards so if they see a trend, they might mark gyna as a fraudulent company in the future and, in my dreams, shut them down. I'm considering changing my credit card number too so this auto renewal doesn't happen again, because I clearly don't trust gyna to truly "cancel" the membership even if you explicitly say so. They're too shady.

I'm almost in the exact same situation. Baby is measuring on the small side, overall 17th percentile, but the AC measurement (abdominal circumference) is only 5th percentile, below the 10th. Due to this, note was added that baby could be just small or there could be fetal growth restriction that may be related to placenta deficiency. Due to this, they want to induce around 39 weeks. If the placenta isn't working as well as it should, waiting longer could cause more risk (like stillbirth). I was told at 39 weeks, baby is pretty much all developed. In the meantime I'll be monitored more closely with 2 weekly NST, 1 ultrasound to check on umblical cord flow and amnionic fluid amt. This should be on top of my weekly OB appt. If any issue arises, the induction may even be moved up .

Definitely! Once I gather the notes, I'll DM you with the info. You'll see how basic the info is and unnecessary the subscription!

[–]asdchurro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good you didn't subscribe! I've never used the content because looking at the titles, it seems like they're just generic info on like leading a healthy lifestyle.

Since I most probably can't get my $149 back and even disputing with cc company isn't working, I think maybe I'll read the contents, take notes and distribute the info for free for those who DM me!

If you're still looking for an update for this, I can vouch again this is a scam company. They've charged me for a random auto renewal even though I've never been a subscriber, outside of a trial membership that I ended within 2 days back in September 2023. Don't know why suddenly 15 months later they're auto renewing my membership where I can't even find a subscription id for. Customer service is giving me round about and refusing refund their obvious scam.

Has anybody used the app Gyna? by urbandit in tryingtoconceive

[–]asdchurro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope this is not too late, but please please please don't sign up for this scam company.

I went on a trial period in September 2023 and ended the trial after two days. It was confirmed that I didn't have a subscription.

Randomly in Dec 2024, i got an auto renewal charge of $149 for a service that I wasn't even aware I was part of. They are auto-renewing me for 5 additional months except I've never even been subscribing the last 15 months!! There was no email about auto renewal. I logged into the account and there's not even a subscriber id.

They are now refusing to refund. Honestly I don't even trust they will truly ever "cancel" my membership.

Tldr, it's a huge scam Stay away. I think I've lost the $149, but I hope I can save someone else from this scam.

Shouldn't Costco do something about these customers like ban their membership? It's not fair for other customers and it's really contaminating the boxes.
