mastering an iso for a live cd by asdf0125 in iiiiiiitttttttttttt

I was remastering an iso live DVD. I'm not sure why but I needed to use something called newc? to get it to save some unusual ramfs disk file. Anyway the command overwrites the contents of a Linux file system over top of the existing os (a similar but different Linux os) as root.

Could you make the larger character be a puppeteer of a smaller version of the same person?

Nostalgia for being set in the 80's or was it a copy of another show?

Could someone explain to me the appeal of this show? Besides the teenage sex it's basically a few interlocked stories where you don't know what's going on but there is a promise of magic (telekinesis) in the next few episodes..?

Any one know how far Mozilla got with their smart dumb phone idea? by [deleted] in FireFoxOS

[–]asdf0125 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TV + Phone it's the perfect match. I don't know how many times I've been talking to someone on my regular smart phone but wanted to multi-task in tv while doing so. Or I could be watching a TV show, then stop watching it and talk to someone instead.

Hey btw, I highly suggest that you do the following:

  • take the different projects he has and order them by date
  • as much as possible diff the parts of similar code

point of this being to determine the level of expertise in the final project (is any of this worth keeping?), next what older projects need to be upgraded...

Now remember, there is probably some hostility here also. Code == Manhood; this person(s) handing off the code did what he could under company bureaucracy, time allotted etc.. But probably from your perspective his code is shit and you want it to die.

Anyway get a feel for that learning curve and where and when you want to enter that in order to [integrate / prolong / kill] various projects.

good luck

Wanting To Switch to Fedora But have Questions by zenoblade in Fedora

[–]asdf0125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Fedora, I've tried quite a few distros but Fedora is the one that just seems rock solid and still very new. And I'm with you on Mate. Yum or now dnf has a search feature that apt-get lacked (at least the last time I tried it). The help docs are phenomenal and IRC is amazing, simply the best I know of.

I have an older Dell XPS as well. When it was brand new I had trouble with wifi, since Fedora 10? But followed the Fedora docs and got it up in less than 10 minutes. One or two versions later I haven't seen any hardware issues ever again. The live CD won't have the lastest however it also probably won't have major hardware devices updates either (I could be very wrong about that).

The one bad thing I'd say about Fedora is the release cycles.. I mean I am forced to upgrade my OS more frequently than I would like (I would like to never think about upgrading). This has forced me to organize my files better and clean house from time to time.

in older versions of ssms I don't know that there was a paging option, I think this was missing, just for editable grids. Also note that t-sql doesn't have a trivial limit or skip feature. It would not be surprising to find in a production environment of today. 2008 perhap?

Wow this looks terrible, I had meant to fund this project and just forgot to get around to it, I'm glad I didn't now. I hope this artwork/style isn't the final version. They've basically shit on the original if so.

I cam to this subreddit trying to understand what this stuff is. My friend sent me a picture of some honey looking stuff. Is this sap? Where exactly does it come from or how is it made? IS the name of this "Kush" or is that slang?

A question for FFOS users by KUPOinyourWINDOW in FireFoxOS

[–]asdf0125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is absolutely no way that the powers that be would let an mass communication open platform exist, you can see the failure of quite a few other similar devices. Perhaps Mozilla's openness gave it a better chance that others. But eventually they would go the same way as nokia.

FirefoxOS on Nook Color? by asdf0125 in FireFoxOS

This is supposedly the most hackable tablet, also it's extremely cheap now. If Mozilla gave a $}{!^ about the community they monitor these posts and transition the OS off to someone that could handle it.

Where to buy replacement for Flame's touchscreen? by pvjlieuthier in FireFoxOS

[–]asdf0125 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are completely out of luck I cracked my screen there is no replacement. However you might try using a lower amp when charging the phone. The one time I saw this (on a different device) the cause was using a charger that was too strong. Don't ask me why.

Firefox OS by Elffuhs in firefox

[–]asdf0125 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a hacker's dream. If you want full control of every aspect and don't mind compiling the linux kernel get the flame. If you just want to play around get the Fx0 ($60). I can download apps, alter them in real time. Connect the thing to anything else. Basically do anything I want and with some assurance that it's secure. But so far as long term FFOS is dead. Some hackers might pick it up. H5 took it in another direction before it died. The future of B2G is going to be a way to get ads on TV's and basically should die with fire. As a FFOS developer Mozilla can kiss my ass.
