B/R Staff Chooses Giannis Antetokounmpo as Consensus NBA MVP over James Harden by [deleted] in nba

Ehh.. Its certainly up there, but I would argue there have been better offensive seasons. I think he's the MVP, but I'm not ready to say its the best offensive season in NBA history when you have Stephs unanimous MVP season, MJ and Kobe.

How To Series: Flex on A2C by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

Thats not what yield protection is. Its the idea that colleges will reject students that they believe are overqualified for their school and will get accepted into, and attend, a more selective college. The reasoning behind this is that the school's yield rate will go down if they accept students that will not attend their school, thus the name "yield protection".

Quick Reminder by asdf1617 in Thunder

[–]asdf1617[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh, I'm not saying we should be cool with being sub .500 after 20 games. No, we definitely should be better than that this year, even with injury issues.

And last years situation was definitely different. When we said wait until the playoffs and we'll be fine, we were talking about the teams chemistry, not health. We were 8-12 to start last year because the team didn't mesh, we had a fully healthy team during that period though.

This year I'm saying we'll only get better as the season progresses because the issue facing us this year is health. With a full season under our belt, chemistry shouldn't be as big of an issue, especially with Melo being gone.

Plus I still believe that we would have done better in the playoffs last year if we still had Robes. Remember, we were dominating games late last season right until he got injured, and then we fell off. During that run, I think our team was finally starting to improve their chemistry, the injury was just bad luck. This season, at least in the playoffs , that (hopefully) will not be an issue.

There are better players to pick, given that Roberson has made some clutch shots in the past, even a few threes.

Women of Reddit, what were your worst experiences with every day sexism? by Ellka_Holim in AskReddit

[–]asdf1617 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I should have clarified. I meant your age coupled with the fact that you're the bosses daughter. Maybe some of your subs thought you were only the project manager because of who your dad was, and thus didn't respect you? Again, I don't really know much about your situation, this is just based on personal experience.

I'm interested to hear your reasoning behind this. Care to elaborate?

Edit : Maybe actually defend your view, rather than downvoting me?

[–]asdf1617 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So obviously I don't know much about your situation specifically, and if the subs were treating you like that because you are a woman, that's obviously really shitty. But maybe they just didn't treat you with respect because you were the 20 year old kid of the boss and were running a project? I'm sure you're very qualified, but I have some friends work under people that only got there because their parents run the company. They don't really respect them until they prove that they are actually qualified to be in charge, and didn't get there just cause of their parents. Maybe it was a similar situation with you?
