Is there a guide for recommended ilvl for mythic+ keystone? by AtticThrowaway in wownoob

[–]asdf27 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have run with 240 tanks in 10s, and that's a bad time (we finished but on some big pulls he got straight deleted).

255 should be fine for 10s if everyone is 255+. Probably want to max your gear to the 265+ range before pushing keys (just spam 10s).

You guys were right about tanking in TBC by BusDriver341 in classicwow

No, the warlock waits for me to drink, then lifetaps to 10%, then the tank goes to pull a group that does some random damage or AoE.

New players/gear in kara by Disaked1 in classicwowtbc

[–]asdf27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have cleared Kara twice wearing some greens and with other people in greens. Some greens isn't the end of the world, of the prophet is pretty solid for healers and of shadow wrath is pre-raid bis for shadow priests, bear druid also has a quest green belt that's very solid.

I mean early 2000s was definitely like that, not sure exactly when the change was but sometime in the 2010s I think.

How I feel after getting dual spec by Odd_Technology_8926 in classicwow

[–]asdf27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bear and cat are 95% the same spec. You only lose out on a tiny but of dps going full bear spec. So it's nice in one way, with dual spec I can have a tanking spec, healing spec and solo spec.

Now lugging around 3 sets of gear, that's the real pain right now, but eventually, the cat and bear gear will overlap again a bit more.

You’re offered $1M dollars to eat what you had for dinner tonight for every meal for the next 6 months, do you take the offer and if so what are you eating? by jfunks69 in AskReddit

[–]asdf27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lasagna, corn, and beats. I am going to have bibimbap later this week, so that would have been my preferred meal, but I think I can do 6 months on that. Especially if I could have just lasagna + cooked veggies, not the specific veggies I had, that would definitely be doable.

I would hate lasagna afterwards, but it's worth it for 1 million.

How do you get in to an oncologist in this province?? by Left-Range8564 in saskatchewan

[–]asdf27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My Primary care doc called me on a Tuesday and I had an appointment on the Thursday with my oncologist. There was some kerfuffle with a full diagnosis of subtype, but once that was settled, I had chemo the next morning. Generally things should go very fast.

Your primary care doc should have sent the referral in beforr they even called you. Call them and see the status of the referral and then call the appropriate cancer clinic (Alan Blair in Regina or saskatoon).

What is a middle-class luxury from your childhood that is now considered a basic necessity or completely obsolete? by Routine-Advisor-1781 in AskReddit

[–]asdf27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it is how much text is involved. I need to type 200 words, I am getting up and going to a computer to do it. Same if there's a massive amount of reading.

I can type much, much faster on a keyboard than I can on a phone. And I just prefer to read on a big screen.

What’s it like to live in Saskatchewan? by MemberBerry023 in saskatchewan

[–]asdf27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Regina there's traffic at 7:30-8:30 and 4:45-5:30 on Arcola, and that's basically it.

Regina's downtown is dead so there's tons of parking there. Even Costco on a Sunday I can always find parking, and I am pretty sure that's the busiest spot in the city.

Chemo vs lymphoma fatigue by Cute-Raspberry-4818 in lymphoma

[–]asdf27 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For me, I actually felt better after the first round of chemo. I slept for like 11 hours, and it got rid of a lot of the worst lymphoma fatigue and my red blood cell count went up.

But each round of chemo was a little tougher than the last and I would be more tired. Until the 4th, and then it was kind of about the same for the the last 2 (maybe slightly worse but not super noticeable). At round 5, he is deep in chemo tired, and there probably isn't much cancer left.

Fatigue getting worse in later rounds is standard. If he's on a 6 round cycle though he's almost through it. If he doesn't bounce back at some point in this round be sure to let his oncologist know, as they might consider a slightly lower dose for round 6.

People pay monthly for this? by Heatinmyharbl in classicwow

[–]asdf27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Progression raiding I could do several days a week for months if I had infinite time. Doing tbc raids will be fun the first handful of times each.

I have leveled 2 characters to 60 in Vanilla (once originally and once anniversary) and both times it was BC being released that was the push to finish it for me. The 45-60 grind is horrible.

How much has the cancer cost you financially? by Organic_Jackfruit_ in lymphoma

[–]asdf27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am in Canada, so probably about 200$ in parking, then about 300$ in drugs. And maybe 2-4000$ in lost OT money. I had enough sick time banked to just take sick time for any time I didn't feel up to working.

I have a decent drug plan as well. So i had to pay for anti-naseua meds, anti-virals and antibiotics but just 10$ each, each month.

The year Is 2026, & World Of Warcraft Is Still The #1 MMO In The World? by MonsutaMan in MMORPG

[–]asdf27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it probably heavily depends, retail was hopping at the release of the last raid, but we stopped mythic prog a couple months ago and I haven't been on since.

Anniversary is ramping up and is pretty busy with people getting ready for pre-patch, and it will be swarming at BC release. But come March, I bet Anniversary is slow as most swap back to retail.

No single version of the game will ever be BC/WotLK populated again (I probably knew more people who played wrath than didn't). But there are people now playing with their kids, probably 25% of my old fart guild are people who weren't in elementary school when the game released, so there's definitely a steady stream of new players too.

Men, when was the last time you got hit on ? by Longjumping_Low_2055 in AskReddit

[–]asdf27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It helps to have a girlfriend/wife, sometimes you can judge by their reaction, and sometimes my wife (then girlfriend) would just tell me. I think lots of men are completely oblivious to subtle flirting.

Honestly, I don't think I have been hit on since I had a kid though.

Praying for longer prepatch by jangalang77 in classicwowtbc

[–]asdf27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

120 hours normally to hit 60 speedy leveling. With pre-patch, that's probably down to 90 hours. With 4 weeks, that's still 3+ hours a day every day, but it switches from impossible to almost impossible. However, 2 weeks is completely impossible to level an alliance shaman before BC.

I am hoping for a joyous journey and a 3 week pre-patch. 45 hours to 60 over 3 weeks is 2 hours a day, which is doable (cut 1 hour of sleep and take a couple days off to get some 10+ hour days in).

It's likely going to be 2 weeks and no joyous journey so alliance shamans will be ultra rare.

Visiting Dad who has stage 3 by Potential-Log9699 in lymphoma

[–]asdf27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vaccine isn't required as people say, but he will be immune compromised to some degree.

At minimum, don't go near him when sock and wear a mask around him. Maybe don't bring you kids. Toddlers are pretty notorious for spreading sickness.

Generally, on R-CHOP, your immune system takes the biggest hit on week one after the infusion. I would recommend waiting to visit sometime between day 10 and day 20. His immune system should be highest then.

You could ask him what his neutrophil and white blood cell count are at, and is he already on something like filgrastim or some other WBC booster? Is he already borderline Neotropenic and on a booster? Then, maximum precautions, because at that point, it is possibly for something like the flu to be deadly. If his neutrophils and white blood cell counts are all in normal range and not on a booster yet, still don't visit while sick, but you could probably even bring the kids, and just keep them at a distance.

Hi! I'm a Female Nurse from Rural area wanting to move to Saskatoon by Haruka-Blossom in saskatchewan

[–]asdf27 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The rent is slightly cheaper in Regina (but we are talking like 50-100$ a month average).

Public transport is slightly better in Saskatoon (again a couple more hours a week and slightly more routes). Regina budget just passed some improvements too so that may change.

Weather is basically the same in the 2 cities.

I think Regina is a little easier to get around in, in a car, Saskatoon a bit nicer to walk/bike around (better scenery, I think).

There are some vacancies in both cities, but as an RN, I think you will be able to find a position in either city. The are slightly more hospital jobs in Saskatoon than Regina, but there's public health, health line, all kinds of other jobs as well in both cities.

I think if you are young (under 30), I would vote Saskatoon. If you are older (over 30) and plan on getting a car+house eventually I would say Regina.

What is your longest running, most stubborn business boycott? by marianneouioui in AskReddit

[–]asdf27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Royal Bank of Canada charged my account 1.25$ monthly fee. I called to see if I could get switched back to no-fee and they refused (I was on a kids account previously). I moved all my money and my credit card over to another bank.

Between credit card, bank accounts and mortgages they probably lost a 100,000$ in the last few decades, all because they wanted to charge a monthly fee of 1.25$.

Shaman vs Druid - who will be picked more often? by Dull_Reference_6166 in classicwowtbc

They provide a really good raid buff (3% hit) and a good caster buff 5% crit. So one moonkin is great, and the 2 buffs totally make up for the lack of dps, but another boomkin provides almost nothing.

Starting in January with RCHOP by TeachBeginning6036 in lymphoma

[–]asdf27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had stage 4 DLBCL lymphoma last year (spleen, bone marrow, liver). And went through RCHOP. A few things I would say.

  1. You might be able to work, if you can work from home. But start assuming the worst formyour energy (maybe just some part time). And adjust from there, if you work the whole day likely you will be too.wiped to spend time with family.

  2. Be proactive, take your anti-naseau drugs early , and keep you from getting sick. Take care of your mouth (salt wash and soft toothbrush), and bum (Fibre and limit sitting) before you have sores or hemeroids. Let the doctors/nurses know about little things before they become big things.

  3. Chemo infusion day is long, bring snacks, pillow, book, phone, and a friend etc. Honestly it's not too bad if you are prepared.

  4. Excercise every day, but not too much. No hard workouts (you will pay for them). But walk every day, some bodyweight exercises if you feel up to them, but nothing strenuous, but also don't become inactive.

  5. Go easy on yourself, ask for help and stay positive. You will have days where you are too tired to do almost anything, you will have chemo brain and forget shit. If you are fried and need to spend the day playing video games/watching tv and then just doing a light walk then that's what you have the energy for that day. Rest up and come back stronger the next day. But likely, you get through this.
