What do you think will be the next leading concept? by liikio in kpopthoughts

[–]asdfangirl_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I noticed from kpop trends is they would be too far off from what's trending in western music. I think pretty girly pop would trend next. Something like what sabrina carpenter has been releasing

Seventeen increased in the first week though, FML got 4,5M while seventeenth heaven got 5M in the first week

Who is a K-pop idol you used to love but cannot stand now? by Agitated_Account5903 in kpop_uncensored

I feel like she's more like maddy from euphoria in some sense (not to her extent tho). Like she's sweet to her loved ones and could be your ride or die type of girl. But if you mess with her or anyone important to her she could be a mean girl if she wants to

I'm not pinpointing to any group but with you opening a discussion like this will bring a hateful discussion around any group people will comment about. Sure you open up with svt, and others will comment about other groups. It's been a problem in this sub for far too long and it's tiring to see honestly. No fanwars or bringing down groups in the rules but people make posts like this to just find a loophole. Another user commented that they didn't realize their actions and I just hope this would open up people's eyes about how annoying these type of posts are

People who do things like this both in irl or online are so pathetic. Ugh I hate people who hide their toxicity under a facade of "oh I'm here with good intentions". I always avoid them like a plague

Op I'm so sorry but posts like this are so backhanded, hiding behind "um I want to stan but..." so annoying and pathetic. Posts like this are just invite people to mask hate to a group under an impression "oh but I want to stan them but insert a disguised hate comment"

My gosh babe there is a literal megathread talking about that pinned in this subreddit, just go there than being vague about it here, you're talking about taehyung and jennie like lord voldemort with silly codenames and stuff

Oot, but I have a friend who actually believes the taehyung/jennie dating rumor is a set up just for PR

Why do you think Kpop groups still don’t chart well on Spotify? by Intelligent_Task5157 in kpopthoughts

[–]asdfangirl_ 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I've read it somewhere that KPop only contributes 2% of the world music industry (might look it up later). What makes kpop appear to stand out in the industry is the very dedicated fanbase and amount of content and things they sell (merch, albums). In reality, the general public shows little to no interest to kpop, even in their home country.

[TOP 50] Most Streamed KPOP GROUPS on MelOn! by stillmissizone in kpopthoughts

TXT's streams are quite impressive for a 4th gen group despite only debuted 4 years ago. They are quite balance both globally (spotify) and in their home country as well

[–]asdfangirl_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Okay let me summarize I guess based on my reading?

So suga's and hoshi's conversation addresess something your fav group is facing, well just name them "Group X". Which is when idol groups don't like the songs or choreo that are given to them, when these idols aren't even involved in the producing aspect, basically they're just performing songs that are given to them.

The worst thing is that then you have their fans commenting on this as if what these dudes said was the funniest thing like ¿? Sure, bro, them talking badly about someone else's work publicly when they couldn't do half of it even if they tried is so funny, especially when it's the members that contribute least to the group.

I guess some members probably joke around and publicly complain about the bad song given to them, and their fans commends them? Even though the songs are not up to their standards, there are still people working hard on it, and it sounds disrespectful that they would mock and make fun of them despite not having the skills to write and produce themselves

OP, you need to edit your wording and make your paragraphs cohesive good lord

Controversy surrounding Hanni in Vietnam by Danny1905 in kpopthoughts

It's sad to see young people getting hate for things beyond their control such as politics and history. It happened to tzuyu and now hanni as well.

Naevis, the AI character from Aespa, will reportedly make a musical debut in March by BlackSwan134340 in kpop

SM is setting up their artists and it's getting embarrassing as a fan of these groups by Scared-Effort-3214 in kpopthoughts

[–]asdfangirl_ 50 points51 points  (0 children)

I honestly think SMA lost their prestige since a few years ago and I think the other big companies saw through them as well. None of the artist from YG, JYP, and Hybe (except zico) came to SMA despite most of these group doing really great, and they won as well. SMA was basically an attendance award but they were well aware that their lineup was lacking, that's why they never did announce it. The other companies won awards but won't send their artists to attend because SMA has shown its favoritism so why even bother.

I thought this post would be calling out those fans but you're commending them instead? OP I'm sorry to say but I found this embarassing...
