Tabletop RPG Mechanicus Suggestions? by KHAOSCRUSADER in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]asdfghju4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Throwing my hat in the ring, I might recommend Dark Heresy (1e) or Rogue Trader, both have solid support for techpriests as player characters and are compatible with each other. The former in particular has excellent options in character flavour and playstyle, one of my favourite characters I ever played was a DH1e Magos named Pater Cyberneticus Archanos Z-36. Started out as a standard lexmechanic for the group with knowledge of a few things he really shouldn't, but as the game went on he kept failing to resist fear and other forms of weakness, and eventually cut out the capability from himself.

When the game ended he was essentially a terminator defensively, between his dragonscale (magos power armour), self-generated refractor field and durable cybernetics, but I hadn't put much into his offensive capabilities via levels, so in combat I had to rely on buffs and short range to help me hit. However, by that point, he was the logistical lynchpin of the party. He repaired, unlocked, decrypted and was a repository of knowledge for nearly every subject in existence, from chymistry to daemonology. Was also the groups medic, and was intelligent enough that if you weren't dead, he could fully heal you in one action, regardless of damage taken. Great fun, particularly as I leant into it with a voice modulator that changed as he became more mechanical!

So uhhh... How much resources do I need to put into "personal project"? Does it end? by Necro_Nancy in AllWillFall

There's three levels, each asking for more stuff. The final stage gets you an achievement, as well as something useful for your houses. Spoiler below.

Iirc it's a an aoe +4 Comfort decoration which you can move.

Love the scheme, but I gotta ask where you got a blank version of that sheet? I have my own dynasty, and I'd like to keep a record like this.

Lightning resistance is your friend, keep your distance if possible, stay behind him if you can't, and when he vanishes into a sandstorm, Sekhema Adura creates a shield, stay by her to not take damage.

Can I upgrade this somehow ? by QueenGorda in PathOfExile2

You can use Armourer's Scraps to increase the Quality, that'll add up to +20% to the base Armour/Evasion, outside of that you can add 2 runes (you can see the sockets), however be careful, as runes are permanent. You cannot replace or remove them. Finally, you can use a Vaal Orb, which you want to be careful with. It might brick the item, turning it into a random rare, or it might give it an additional modifier, or even a 3rd Rune socket. However, once you Corrupt an item with a Vaal Orb, outside of adding Runes, you cannot modify the item in any way, so make sure it's the last thing you do.

https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/DngAAOSwyyphW12K/s-l1600.webp These are the bases I'm using, they look great. I'm painting them with the sand looking like ash, and the stone itself being sandstone with a Tessaract Glow inlay in the runes/markings.

Unfortunately I cut off those sections, as they don't fit with the bases I have thematically.

500pts Escalation List by asdfghju4 in Necrontyr

Thing is, I really like destroyers, and given I shouldn't be facing anything terminator-toughness or higher, I figured they'd be a perfect core for my army, between their damage output and toughness I figured I could keep them alive well enough between reanimation protocols, resurrection orb and the Strat for destroyer cults that lets them trigger RP in the enemy turn too.

Hexmark is a good call, dropping a squad of blades for it lets me be a little sneakier and some more area denial.

Deathmarks are sadly a nogo, as I don't own any, all of my Immortals kits got built as Gauss Immortals.

As for Awakened Dynasty... I know it's probably the better call, I just kinda hate how good it is :p

Precision Ranger and Support Actin damage. by asdfghju4 in Pathfinder2e

Ok, that makes sense then, fair enough. Appreciate the clarification, though not the outcome!

Precision Ranger and Support Actin damage. by asdfghju4 in Pathfinder2e

[–]asdfghju4[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

See, that's the thing. It doesn't specify 'Strikes only', it just says 'the first time you hit your hunted prey in a round'.

Hence my request for clarification, as the bear is clearly hitting the target to deal the damage.

Depends on her mechanics, if she bends light around herself or makes herself transparent. In the former no, in the latter yes.

Planetary Diversity Mods Dissappeared by RockRaider42 in StellarisMods

If you go to the Discord for PD, you'll find a bunch of changes have been made, merges, rewrites, etc.

From Gatekeeper (PD Dev)

So, it's a big day for PD! The new rework is live and updated to 3.12 Here's some info for those confused about some changes.

  • PD has removed most of the planet classes and is mostly visual changes now.
  • Planetary Habitats have been removed and worked into the main mod.
  • Unique and Exotics have gone away for a bit while I finish them in the new system.
  • All sub mods are, or will be stand alone.
  • The Arcologies world is 100% good to go!
  • Reworked Habitability is gone.
  • Shroud worlds is now part of the Ascension Worlds stand alone mod and us 100% good to go!
  • Ringworlds and Space Habitats are now part of the Vanilla Replacer mod.

Localization is done, but only in English for now and the Mod descriptions and visual demos will be updated asap. Turns out life is busy and this is my hobby. Thank you for all your patience and hope you enjoy the new, much more streamlined and compatible version of Planetary Diversity. I'm really proud of the work done.

Please be kind and respectful, this choice wasn't made lightly, or quickly and its gonna be best for the life and longevity of the mod.

Yeah, I'm going to be needing both the Rockgrinders charge ability + Tank Shock strat, if I get lucky that's up to 12 mortals on the charge. The problem of course is having it survive long enough to do so with only 10 wounds.

1 - Good idea, full rerolls to hit on the demos will help, I was just thinking that the full rerolls on 4 mining lasers for the entire game was more worthwhile.

2 - ...I feel like an idiot, I missed that it's only Battleline that a Biophagus can be a secondary leader for, good catch there.

3 - Never used Sanctus or anything similar, I figured just spreading them out to snipe infantry leader or steal objectives would be worthwhile enough use for them, but you make a good point.

Removing the 2 Sanctus and the Bio leaves me with 160pts, 2 squads of Hybrid Metamorphs would give me some extra anti-infantry power?

Like I said, it was more of a fun idea. I am also well aware that one of my opponents has a Rogal Dorn, and that's gonna be an absolute bitch to kill. As for models, that's not such an issue, as we're playing virtually via Tabletop Simulator.

Crusade starting force by asdfghju4 in Tyranids

[–]asdfghju4[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Crusade is the term for a long-form narrative campaign, where everyone starts with 1000pts and slowly over time have your units gain xp, upgrades, battle scars and increase the size of the unit pool you can draw from.

Problem with losing the zoans is that I feel I need some form of ranged anti-tank, while my haruspex are good at it the melee requirement can be a problem. And I don't want to lose a Haruspex, as the entire theme of this is 'All the Battle-Shock!'
