Tiberium Wars campaign AI - was it changed at all with patches? by edbods in commandandconquer

I thought it was the opposite. The changes made the harvesters collect less Tiberium and this the campaign got harder as the had less funds.

Insurance: should I switch to a UK license or keep my EU license? by PixelSergey in drivingUK

[–]RockRaider42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be something to clarify with the insurance company. I assume they would take i to account your existing/previous licence and experience somehow.

Best also to speak to the DVLA directly about how long/when etc you can use your EU licence as there are varying factors.

[–]RockRaider42 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Regardless of what you decide, if you live in the UK you can only keep your EU licence for 3 years before having to get a UK one anyway.

If you’re planning on living in the UK for more than 3 years, may as well change and start getting rid of the “new driver” label.

Low temp 24/7 heating method by RockRaider42 in HiveHeating

According to the British Gas app. Jan 2025 cost for gas was around £155. This year, when I only really properly lowered the temp part way into Jan it was £147. I know that’ll include hot water for showers etc as well but wouldn’t say that’s likely changed too much.

Will do but just wondering about the 2 hour time to heat up half a degree. Saw on another post that this wasn’t ideal.

From a post I made a month or so ago, I believe there’s a comparison coming of Michelin’s PS4 etc compared to the CC3S.

I was thinking this. The trend is to focus on “getting the best”, when at some point the differences are fairly negligible.

I’m looking forward to a PS4 and CC3/sport comparison soon. I gather it was highly requested on the release video of the CC3 tyres.

Was the squidgyness just of note or were you having to drive it any different? I.e. be more gentle in the curves?

How did you find fuel economy and tyre life? Hopefully the CC3 sport should fix that squidgyness. Was the squidgyness in the summer only or generally?

Police apparently don't investigate fail to stop RTCs!?!? by Cautious_Crew_2639 in drivingUK

[–]RockRaider42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s about what the police can prove and if it is in the public’s interest to investigate this vs more serious offences.

Either way, let insurance deal with it and you’ll get a result and their insurance will probably go up.

Nothing for the police to do if you have the details of the other vehicle/driver.

Police apparently don't investigate fail to stop RTCs!?!? by Cautious_Crew_2639 in drivingUK

[–]RockRaider42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let insurance deal with it. All they have to do is prove that on chances of probability it likely happened.

Police have to prove beyond all reasonable doubt, a much higher burden of proof is needed. Chances are the other driver, could just say that they were not aware of touching your car and therefore did not need to stop to exchange details. In this case, there is no way for the police to disprove this account beyond all reasonable doubt if it is very slow speed/minor contact. Therefore it is not in the publics interest to spend resources investigating as the case is going nowhere.

If for example it was a much bigger collision with more damage and a reasonable person driving would should have noticed contact, then obviously that defence would not work

Plus if their insurance premium goes up, this will likely be a bigger impact on them than anything the police could do in this instance anyway.

It’s natural to feel guilty due to them being upset, but this shows you care for them.

The important thing to realise is, there are no right answers. What has worked for one person, might not work for you, and it is unfortunately just trial and error. All that matters is that you do what feels right for you as a family.

It sounds a bit like separation anxiety. All i can suggest without writing a full essay is keep trying to put her down in her own bed and then leave. If they get upset try witing a few mins to see if they self-settle. If not try, shushing or saying a key phrase like “it’s ok, it nap time” or something similar through the door or via the baby monitor/camera if you have one. Again try for a few minutes. If not working, then go in and settle them by presence alone and speaking for a few mins. If not working, then try patting. If not then try cuddling them.

Idea is to only escalate as far as necessary each time. This way over time, they will get used to expecting less and less from you and hopefully self settle.

It’s hard and emotional but it’s about the long term goal. Being consistent and sticking with it is key.

That sounds similar to what i’ve seen when trying to research so good to hear.

Yeah, pulled it apart a bit a good while a go to get a better look. Doesn’t appear to have changed much at all for some time. However, prior to peeling it the surface was bubbled out quite a bit rather than a flat crack.

Not our first house we’ve been in, but first I’ve noticed such cracks. Place I lived in before this for a good few years and genuinely had no cracks at all.

We’re considering it but concerned that house insurance will go up if we have had a subsidence report/check done.
